Hey there,
I now finally think its time to talk about the sucking matchmaking in Competitive Crucible.
I noticed the last two days where i really tried to play crucible to bring my glory rank up to mythic so i can get my mountaintop and recluse. But theres just one thing that keeps me away from getting those two weapons. Its the matchmaking of crucible. Im always either getting teamed up with total Crucible newbs (which isnt the main Problem) or/and getting teamed against a total wreking, tryhard crucible pro. I cant bring my glory rank even up to Brave since i am able to win about 2 matches in a row and get a tiny bit of glory and then loose about 4 matches again because of the worse matchmaking. I even tried finding some decent Fireteams to get it done but even with a decent fireteam you get matched with a total pro team or at least one or two pros with an efficiency of 8.0+ at the end of each match. It really sucks. Even if i play decent or pretty good sometimes i cant get my glory up even a little. I think the progression of the glory rank sucks because it totaly relies on getting good teammates and not really on your own progress during the match. You can have a good static 3.0 Efficiency troughout the match and still loose progress because there are always players who either dont really know what to do in the gamemode or just suck at crucible for which i dont want to blame them. But it still sucks.
I hope anyone of bungie here is listening to this thread and maybe fix this. I want to be matched with totally fair conditions, not against players with a 100% on point aim and rushing to legendary. And please tell my what you think about the current matchmaking system

Please just leave. Comp isn't for you

Twice in a row have i loaded in with only 2 others while we 3 randoms are pitched against a 4 man team.
-
Make glory ranks based on merit and score. not team wins. I'm so sick of top-ranking somes matches to only lose glory rank because some blueberry is reading a magazine in the corner
-
That's rank-based MMing for ya. The good players will climb up and bad players will face them on their climb. It's best to wait until the end of the season before playing the game mode...but there are good players like me that do that so best of luck.
I SoloQ so I prefer to wait until the good players are filtered out for a nice, relaxed cruise to the new pinnacles. Sorry not sorry. ;)
It says comp not ranked they are similar but different comp is challenging but fun and helps improve players. Ranked just shows whose better. Hopefully they do both in the future
-
Why mythic for Recluse or MT? Just get to Fabled. Its less points. What do you do to improve your skills in PVP? Do you expect that your current skill set to carry to you Mythic?
-
Make it skill based instead of rank based. That would make games closer and much more rewarding to win. It'd also help people get better instead of getting rocked or rocking someone because you learn what you could do differently
-
It is sometimes good, but I've been in a few comparative games, and several have been landslide victories or defeats. Competitive should be hard, but there is also a too hard.
I also suck, so that could be it too.
When it comes against balancing players (not talking about 3v4 more skill) I feel like most people don’t want to admit defeat and take a L.

The first few weeks of a new season are gonna be hit or miss. Everyone started fresh at 0 so you'll see all types before the higher rank players move up into the ranks they belong in. Kinda a silly system tbh. Perhaps if you've hit legend before you should start at 1500 and if you've hit fabled then you start at 500 that would give players newer to comp a chance to learn the ropes without encountering the sweats in the very low ranks.

It's rank based, so of course it's unbalanced. It sucks the way they have the Competitive scoring set up. I played 3 games this morning, won first 2 and lost 1. I got 168 points for the two wins in a row and lost 60 points on the 3rd. The points lost is harsh. Toning that down would ensure that the stacked teams get done more quickly and the rest of us have a better time. It's tough enough getting the kills needed for a pinnacle weapon without tying it to wins as well. You get forced into using close range weapons that put you at a disadvantage so you lose more. I do well with fusions, but getting hand cannon kills in competitive is tough against a team that sticks together.

Unfortunately, all the weaker players have left the game. The pro players have left the game as well I cannot stand this 6v6 BS and Comp has been cancer since my not forgotten is pretty much trash and Lunas follows suit.

As far as competition goes, better players are better players. The problem with Matchmaking is players quitting. Sure the team that won the first 2 rounds looks good. There are 4 of them. Then 1 of your guys quit. So, we have 4 guardians vs. 3. Its not competitive anymore . Its a loss in most cases. On that, if I stay and fight to the end and lose and lose glory, whats the motivation for staying? I'm pretty sure that good players would like a fairer fight. Also, penalizing sorry players who quit, doesn't help the glory count. This is a 4 v 4, fill someone in. Its nothing new, just thought if they are listening, something could be fixed

Nothing you can do about that. Early into a new season, even great players are low in ranking. As the skill levels begin to match rank better as time goes, you will find where you belong on the bracket. In competitive, you cannot expect the win to be given to you. Take victory with your own plays, and use hopeless matches to practice escaping bad gun fights, these skills will pay off during better match ups, and lead to sweeping victories later on. You might be surprised by how much you can make these would-be aimbots struggle to hit you, and if you’re lucky, you might even bait some of them into bad positioning for a big play!

Blowouts every game less than 10 percent of games are close whether it be my team winning or theirs
