I'ma let you finish, but Borderlands had one of the best games of all time! One of the best games of all time! To me this isn't even a contest. Destiny, across 2 games is so lacking in story, content, and fun that there is no real reason to compare them any further. I mean look; -Which event choked you up more - The death of Cayde 6 or Bloodwing? Angel? -Which game did you actually want to kick the ass of the bad guy more - One of the raid bosses, Ghaul, or Handsome Jack? -Which side kick are you the most entertained by - Ghost or Clap Trap? -Which game can you get more immersed into without having to force yourself to keep doing the same ol same ol, over and over again, but likely get little to show for it in regards to loot let alone character progression? -Which game actually has dialogue that can make you laugh. Not just smirk a little, but out loud laugh? Again, no contest.

 • Almost everything about borderlands in general is obnoxious so, not a hard choice to say I dislike to hate everything about that overrated franchise.

 • I've played the first and second all the way through once. Not worth the money or time.

 • Cayde’s death was definitely the more emotional for me. Call me pathetic, but he felt like a friend. Ghaul, considering how damn easy he was, wasn’t much of a pleasure to beat, but hunting down Uldren and the Barons? Now that was rewarding.

 • I loved forsaken, but caydes death was a selling point of the DLC & not to mention most companies kill off main characters to gain traction. I just didnt like that nathan fillion didnt do the voice acting.

 •
Call me pathetic
You're pathetic. Feel better? I find it difficult to attach to Cayde's death to "loss" when we knew it was coming. It was like the most non spoiler moment in the game spoiler. When it happened, all I could think was, "That was a waste of a character", but no sorrow. I felt NOTHING in defeating Ghaul, Uldren, nor any other villains in Destiny outside the first couple raids. I expected to beat them. Even in the D1 raids I didn't feel accomplishment in defeating any cantankerous bad guy, for we had no context to them in any way. It was just completing the complicated nonsense that Bungie made them into that felt like a win. The writing and character development in Destiny are so terrible, so un-Bungie like compared to what all they did with Halo, that I just played Destiny because of the gun mechanics. Nothing more, for the rest of it really is no fun to me. That's what separates the good games from the great games. The great games pull you into their story, no matter how ludicrous it is, and enable you to connect with the characters. The story line and the maniacal, and morally vacant villain(s) make you want to continue and punish the bad guy. Killing Uldren was a no brainer. It had to happen, so again, it was expected, and it was anti climactic.
All up until you hear the Ace putting a round into his gourd.
That was the only part that was surprising at all. And a little off putting at that.

 • I was forcing myself to be hard on both games, Borderlands despite being great deserves criticism. Nothing is perfect. However I do love BL more than Destiny
