Why are some of the best weapons locked behind the competitive playlist?
*Incoming "git gud" comments that miss the entire point of what I'm talking about.
Looking at the pvp meta, roughly 1/3 of the top ten energy weapons can only be obtained by becoming a sweaty tryhard. And if you're not playing in a 4 stack and using the pvp meta, you're not going to have a good time. Can't these weapons be obtained with valor points or something? I don't play super competitive games anymore.

2 RepliesA lot of the best weapons are not locked behind competitive. In the kinetic slot, all of the top five most used weapons in the crucible are not locked behind competitive, in the energy three of the best five energy guns are not locked behind competitive, and the two most used heavy weapons are not locked behind competitive. So two out of the 12 most used weapons in the game are in comp, that leaves you 10 other options that players have to dominate in crucible. The gun will not make you better, and players who have earned LH or NF could stomp with any of these weapons. In my opinion, Bygones and Blast Furnace are the best guns in the game. They are the most consistent weapons in pvp as far as performance and reliability as well as range and up close ttk. This isent meant to be a "git gud" post as more of a try and explore your options, a skilled player can use a lot of different weapons and still come out on top base off gun skill, map positioning, strafe and crouch shooting, working with your class abilities for synergy, and playing smart in the limitations of your loadout.

Because we should be rewarded in different ways. Raids have always had some amazing loot, throughout both D1 and d2. I missed out on so much of it because I didn't, and still don't raid that much. That's fine though, I play Crucible, so I get some pretty sweet rewards from that. I'm happy, why aren't you?

It’s a reward for those who excel. So crucible has something tied to it. Wouldn’t be meaningful if everyone could get it and wouldn’t seem as rewarding. They just need to fix HCs in general so 180 isn’t the do all be all really -
I guess because PvP is the real challenge. It's ever changing and unlike a raid, its mechanics will change.

3 RepliesWith the boost to glory gains fabled is honestly stupid easy for any player who is willing to play consistently. Just follow a simple rule, quit for the day if you lose more then two matches in a row. Try to get three matches in every other day, or every day is even better. I guarantee you will get these weapons.

After 40 strikes you can get Service Revolver - a poor man's Luna with the right roll (Rapid hit/ kill clip). really fun to use, mine has rapid hit/ rampage.

In season 4, i got to 1744 glory in solo queue. Was it tough, yes, but i enjoyed my time in there competing.

If you want to try and improve as a player, here's some tips: Go into private matches to learn names of map locations, good for when you play in a team. That can help with map knowledge and then you can also practice jumps and how to travel around the map. Playing in the mornings can be easier than in the evenings. Using meta weapons and a strong offensive super definitely helps. If you cant find good people in LFG to play with, its probably because their skill level is better than yours (no offense meant), I also run into this issue. I have an approximate 1.2 KD and 1.7 KDA. I try to use solo matchmaking help me find friends. If you play a match and you like one or two people you played with, send them a "GG" good game, and ask if they would like to party up and play together. Why I think this is a good idea, Bungie matched you up with them, they probably have a similar skill level and are in a similar spot in grinding glory. Learn strategies for "Countdown", usually kill an enemy and rush the survivors. Don't arm the bomb unless you kill one of theirs first. Practice in Rumble or QP new weapons and supers Practice in Rumble your one on one skills. If you cant kill one person by yourself, it will be much harder for you to help out your team.. Probably common knowledge, If you are the only one with a super, that can be a great time to use yours. No one around to counter you easily with a super of their own. Also you start generating orbs for your team mates so they can get their supers going. I used the Iron Burden during Iron banner to improve my skills. You are outputting about 20% less damage and enemies are putting out 2x rampage damage. This allows me to practice hurting others while I try to survive. When you go back to regular crucible, you feel really powerful. Try to use the bonus points to your advantage. You just need to play 3 games a week to get 120-160 points a week. 12 weeks at 120 points is 1440. That is 2/3 of the points that you need.
