Would just need to setup a link to one bungie.net account for cross save I would imagine. I would love this feature but I understand it has its complications.

Maybe it could be done connecting straight to bungie but they wouldn't be giving you a free game on the other system you would need to purchase it again. A few other games have done it with a one time only transfer option. But i'm curious why would you want cross save on different system?

Cross save would allow me to share in-game progression from one platform to another. Since everything takes many hours of grinding (triumphs, exotics, etc.) it would be nice to be able to log into different systems and maintain that progress. I play on both Xbox and PC. I have played Destiny on Xbox since beta and have thousands of hours in the game. Now that PC is an option, I love the performance difference but I have many friends/family members who still play on console. I am not in favor of unfair PvP gaming which is why the option of cross-play would be nice. Cross-play would solve the issue of needing to buy the game on multiple platforms. If cross-save is an option, I would still spend the money on both consoles if my progression was shared.

Ah not wanting to lose progress in D2 I get ya. So if Destiny 3 launched... you wouldn't have years of progress built up and if it was fully Cross Play then you wouldn't need cross saves anymore.

Link both accounts to bungie.net. Or do what Frontier dev does for ED and allow you one move between platforms ( Although they don't move your ships and progress just your cash, but tbh it is the cash flow that hold most people back ) Having said that I am sorry but I really do not see them crossing this game in d2's life span. Considering it is near the end of it's dev life cycle.

That would work but linking the accounts on Bungie.net wouldn't give you a copy of the game on the PSN store or Microsoft store. In Elite dangerous you must have already bought the game and it can only be done once and like you said not everything comes. This isn't cross save that a one time transfer. Cross save if like with the Vita or PS3 where I can continue progress on the game whenever I want on 1 connected account.

You have to buy the game again. Same as ed. When you buy a game you buy the permission to use it in the format that you buy it ( read the ToS on it ) so you can own the disc that the software is on, but you do not own the rights to that software and are held to the format for that software was made for. So if you want to move your game over to a different format you have to buy the rights to use it on that format with the dlc's. Unless the owner of the software just gives you it. But most game companies do not do that for different plaforms. The most that they do ( most of them ) is let you transfer it if it is a console up grade, provided that the dlc is sold on the same shopping network with both consoles. Your just asking for too much to get another copy of the game and the dlc's for free. The only companies that do this are FTP games, because they make their money through micro transactions.

I'm not asking for that. I didn't even say I wanted cross saves. I want cross play. I could care less if my saves transferred between consoles. I was just pointing out that there is real cross saves for Xbox play anywhere and PS3/4/vita and there is a 1 time account transfer like Elite Dangerous and Warframe. I assume that people asking for cross saves are asking for the real deal free unlimited back and forth whenever they want from different systems. I doubt most of them have thought about whether they would need to buy the game and DLCs again.
