No realistic way to catch up to end game light level so no reason to play.

Bungie has not given casual or moderate players a legitimate way to reach the light level for end game content and now that the level cap has increased the majority of players are further behind with no hopes of ever catching up. By artificially gating level and loot access to the majority of players, Bungie has not extended the content of the game but, has made an unbearable grind while the game is unplayable by most. PVP is garbage which in turn makes Iron Banner unplayable both in light level aspects and mechanics based. I am so glad you listened to the toxic tryhard and streamer crowd Bungie for the will surely constitute enough of player base to support your franchise. I sincerely doubt it. The fact is that Bungie is bleeding players and games like Anthem are going to be the welcoming new home for those gamers who pay for a game in the expectaions that they will actually be able to do that. Forsaken is designed much like the mistake of Redrix's Claymore and that only 1.7% of the entire player base will ever succeed in this game now. I want those who read this to truly appreciate that fact for a moment. Redrix's Claymore was only obtained by a little over 8,000 players out of the entire community. Now we still have two DLC's to go and only 1.7% of the population is ready to actually play them while everyone else continues to grind old, stale content and might catch up by the time the next expansion is released. Much like Redrix's Claymore after a while of seeing and hearing about only a few getting rewarding loot, players will simply stop trying. Especially after such incidents of Luna's Howl misuse like now, which if the weapon was obtainable by the vast majority of players making for a balanced PVP experience there would be no complaints. Bungie decided only a few toxic elitist are allowed to feel powerful and deserving of Destiny therefore, I like many other simply quit. Destiny is not worth the effort for so little reward and be subjected to immature, toxic, grief and tryhard trolls. You can have this worthless game I quit. Uninstalling.

Read somewhere prime engrams were going to be at an increased drop rate and much higher power level for people below 600

      • I had three characters at 600 and the help of a clan to get me through the content of the first week and up to 620. But even then it is rough to tell some clan members that they are too low and I help them next week, when the forge boss encounter does not kill them at a rate of 15 deaths per minute. Try as I might, I cannot pull two people at 603 through this. Not to speak of the many clan members who returned to the game being around 570. If doing an old 380 raid with clan newcomers, who recently got the base game for free, is more appealing than getting them excited and into the content that was just released, the content has a problem. Whatever the target audience is for Black Armory and whether this audience is served or not, people paid $35, so they expect a little bit more content right out of the gate. So far, this is the moment where all the people realize that the emperor is nude. Beyond time-gating and wiping all the players a few times by stacking the numerical odds against them, the game draws a blank.

      • If you a moderate player then you should hit max light, and since you had 2 accounts ( not sure why 2 accounts if you aren't hardcore). All I know is this isn't the first time you have posted that your done with this game. So it really doesn't matter. Before you respond and tell me I'm a toxic like everyone else who responds, know that I don't care, your just crying for attention, and I gave you my 2 minutes of attention.

                    • I agree with you on this power up mania of Bungie. I barely made 600 power one character before Forge dropped - of course now I'm 50 behind and grinding the same events and can't complete new content. IMHO the forge should have been InGame content like strikes, ala 540 power so most everyone could play new content. But no - Bungie made it Endgame content for super youtubers and destiny lifer's. Until the Forge I had remained positive about Destiny 2 development - but now with 50 power higher with every release of new content - I might look elsewhere for truly FUN games. Maybe I''ll take a break until next year sometime and re-evaluate then.

you don't need to get there in one week. take your time. if you run out of powerful engrams for the week you can always grind gambit or crucible as both activities will give you a powerful engram everytime you rank up. you can still earn primes and exotics doing these as well

                        • I have a full time job and other responsibilities outside of that and I was able to get to 600 power on console within 3 weeks and I’m almost at 600 on pc after playing for about 3 weeks on there, it’s by no means difficult to level up and it isn’t that time consuming either, a friend of mine who barely plays this game is 550 and he started forsaken a little over a week ago. You’re right however for most it’s too much, the problem is bungie doesn’t understand the concept of a middle ground, example, year 1, myself and many others got to max power in less than a month and we had all the exotics... what we’re we gonna do, the PvP was bland, pve had no depth or real replay ability, there was no grind and that’s one of the reasons the hardcore community quit, we had nothing to do. Fast forward to forsaken a lot of the “tryhards” like the grind, we like logging in and seeing that there’s something to do and chase after. I understand that that isn’t something the casual player is about they want a quick experience but that’s one of the reasons the game failed so miserably at first, it catered too much to the casual and that’s not what an mmo-esque game should do. The casual player can still find some enjoyment but the truly dedicated actually have something to chase after, like I said the grind isn’t ideal but it is significantly better than it was in year 1.

                          • take away the needless salt and ill informed it's impossible. it's good to see you've realized you don't possess what it takes for this game and moved on. level cap is easily obtained by all, if this is something holding you back, the decision to quit is indeed good. great quest weapons are not meant to be in the hands of the majority, nor are they missuses. everything in a game is not meant to be obtained unless you are a top tier player capable of doing so. if high level rewards are set to the lowest skillset to obtain the game is diluted and no sense in playing. at the end of the day everything isn't for everyone, better to identify it be honest with yourself and move on.

                            • Actually 12% of the population is at 600 power level. With new increase in prime engrams that number will grow but doubt it will ever be at 50%. I agree in some aspects of your argument. Bungie does need to broaden the game to a medium point. As it has gotten too grindy imo. I find myself barely hanging on. Cores need to be more available to allow for players to either level the armor and weapons they want to use or get rid of them from the leveling process. Power engrams need to be replaced, at most u can get 12 or 15 a week, unless you grind like crazy for every last one thats available. Also more loot available in the game, Planetary, vanguard, crucible and others need updates NOW. If you have 3 characters like me, its a chore to play this game right now. I just barely hit 600 on all 3 characters this week. I grinded my hunter this week for all the power engrams and got alot of primes to help but cant do it every week, my Hunter now stands at 611. I work full time and have a family, grind isnt something I want to take precedence in my life, ask my wife, she'd be pissed if that happens. Bungie needs to find a medium in this game. The pendulum swung to far to casuals in the beginning, now its swinging the other way to streamers. If Bungie ever does, this game will explode in population.

                            • Im not sure what percentage of people completed the Volundr Forge to kick off Black Armory, but
its literally grinding Lost Sectors, High Value Targets, and Kill x amount of y while doing z
after that. I wouldnt get in too much of a hurry here. Everything good after the first Forge requires subsequent Forge clears. Its best to overlevel so you don't spend a ton of time on wasted runs.

                            • I do love how the ignorant players come here and comment about how Destiny had 2 million players log into the game like that is good for a AAA title franchise. To put it in clear perspective Fortnite had 200 million gamers log in during the same time period. Destiny is dead and now they are just beating the corpse.

                            • rng to level up is probably the stupidest and most broken part of this game. having good rng will net you all the pieces you need to quickly level up, on the other hand, bad rng hand will get you 6 class items in a row being -1 than what you have equipped... that frustration alone simply makes me turn the game off... rng really needs to be looked at bungie, it's been long enough!

                              • Bungie states that next week they are increasing the drop rate of prime engrams for any characters under 600 light and the power increase they give you. It’s they’re way to help casuals catch up to 600. After that your on your own. My clan is trying to expand if people are looking. We were rank 6 last season and run all content PVE and PVP. We are from all over US and Canada. If your interested in finding a clan check us out Jedi Revolution. We will not just add anyone you’ll have to fit in obviously and be friendly and helpful. Msg me your info if interested
