This is just a thumbs up to you comp gamers. I’ve never been too focused on PVP. I’ve only ever really ran Iron Banner and QP for the power engram. I’ve grinded all three characters to 600 via PVE and got a bit bored with the rinse and repeat, so I decided to break the wrapper on my Luna’s quest last Friday. I’m off work due to the holiday and vacation time and I’d have some time to devote to it. I immediately had Trials flashbacks of being stomped. 😂. By Monday I had all the quest steps done except the rank, but I was only at 800+. I was solo queuing and knew I wouldn’t get the rank before reset due to my late start. I figured I’d just restart and it wouldn’t be so bad, because with the quest steps done I could now change my load out and just focus on wins. Boy, was I wrong. LMAO!
It seems that the Mountain Top has brought everyone out to play and I’ve just been getting crushed. I played 4 hours yesterday and I’m back to zero. I’ve had some good games and some bad. There are some crazy skilled players out there in this playlist. There are a lot of great teams too. I’ve been getting exposed to new tactics in every loss! Some teams just ape you to death, but the execution of tactics in some matches floors me. I get pissed getting beat so easily, but I have evaluate what went wrong, learn from it and move to the next match.
I was messaged and asked to “please leave this playlist” yesterday. My reply, “No sir! Can’t do it. It’s the only way I’ll get better!”

Good for you. Keep grinding, its the only way to get better. If you care about glory, try to practice more in QP and play something else if you lose 2 or 3 in a row. Go into private matches to learn names of map locations, good for when you play in a team. That can help with map knowledge and then you can also practice jumps and how to travel around the map. Playing in the mornings can be easier than in the evenings. Using meta weapons and a strong offensive super definitely helps. If you cant find good people in LFG to play with, its probably because their skill level is better than yours (no offense meant), I also run into this issue. I have an approximate 1.2 KD and 1.7 KDA. I try to use solo matchmaking help me find friends. If you play a match and you like one or two people you played with, send them a "GG" good game, and ask if they would like to party up and play together. Why I think this is a good idea, Bungie matched you up with them, they probably have a similar skill level and are in a similar spot in grinding glory. Learn strategies for "Countdown", usually kill an enemy and rush the survivors. Don't arm the bomb unless you kill one of theirs first. Practice in Rumble or QP new weapons and supers. Probably common knowledge, If you are the only one with a super, that can be a great time to use yours. No one around to counter you easily with a super of their own. Also you start generating orbs for your team mates so they can get their supers going.
