So, I'm an idiot and was following the instructions of some youtube videos too blindly. If you don't step on the plate at all at first, the wish works fine. Please ignore me. 😓

I’ve always stepped on and off the plate before entering a wish, and it’s always worked for me. You were probably just putting the code in wrong.
