What’s the point?

Maybe someone can help me out by clarifying this a little bit. What’s the point of asking people to help you with last wish raid (or any raid for that matter) but they always want experienced players? I’ve done the destiny 1 raids but haven’t done any for destiny 2. How am I supposed to be get experienced when no one will help me learn it? If there are people out there who want to help that would be fantastic because I am finding no help on the fire team search.

    • For my first last wish clear I joined a 590+ know what to do have 5+ clears group. Just did add clearing on the encounters and fluked the queens walk run by just listening to people. As long as you're not a complete scrub it's easy.

      • The raid is two months old. People want experienced players to get things done quickly and efficiently.

      • You're in a clan of 96 people Surely you can get a clan raid going ...only need 1-2 patient players with Raid knowledge Good luck (Or join another clan that will help)

      • This is why I stopped raiding on every mmo. I truck along and get as far as I can without stepping foot in those ragefests. You can get high gear in most games now without having to raid so its really not too necessary these days unless you're after a piece of raid specific loot 🤷‍♂️

I have literally joined every LFG ever totally blind saying " I have no idea what to do. Im not watching a video. Give me a 2 minute explaination and I will clear this because I learn fast and Destiny is easy and Ive blind cleared every raid in D1 and D2 first try" Ive never had an issue and Ive learned every encounter basically first try The key is to communicate effectively. Ask questions, re affirm what youre being told to let them know you understand and be confident. Dont be silent. If someone says " so bro you do X to get to X to do X" you say "So I do X to do X because the point of X is to get to X?" If you do mess up than own up to it and ask what you did wrong and learn RE-AFFIRM Also. Make sure your gear and level is appropriate. Ask optimal loadouts if need be. Be a team player, not a carry. Proper gear allows you to focus more on mechanics by not focusing on enemies that wont die and make you panic Make sure you have good knowledge of your class, gear and game physics and enemy mechanics Be happy. If you sense any toxicity drop out right away. If people are silent and not making any small talk its a fair sign of a shit group If you can do this you can blind LFG any raid. If you go in with the confidence of your skill and communication you will not be kicked unless theyre toxic douches (Rare) or youre bad

      • You missed the learming phase. Make sure you have the right gear. Then start your own raid announcing a new run in need of a sherpa or two. Or you could join a clan.

      • You don't ask other strangers to help you. You're supposed to play Destiny with your own group of friends. BUNGIE catered the Destiny franchise to streamers (who should get real jobs) and tryhard no-life gamers. Solo casual gamers need not bother buying this game or playing it.

That’s just not true, there’s always people willing to help you just have to find them. Also just watch some videos to get somewhat familiar with each encounter (you could probably just lie and say that you’ve done it)

          • Everyone starts raiding in the same boat, with 0 experience. Some groups you should know to stay away from, basically anyone requiring an odd number of clears/A light level equal to their own. Everyone has to go through this phase, all you have to do is make your own post. There are plenty of awesome players out there willing ti help. Whether you watch videos or not, you will find Sherpas out there. Make your own post, say your new, and kick anyone thats annoying/toxic. Guarantee youll find people fast [maybe not for older raids as quickly but you will find people] People require experience because most new ppl dont want to learn, they rather be carried so once you have experience, you dont have to deal with liars or morons that cant figure out the difference between circle and square. Everyone who complains about elitism in raids has not dealt with this toxicity, hence why they say people who require experience are morons because they dont know better. Make your own post, kick anyone annoying, and start learning. Scrolling through LFG joining posts that say KWTD makes you one of those toxic players not respecting peoples fireteams. Once you start playing with autistic players, liars, ragequitters, SUPER elitists going for flawless speedruns, quiet mics, people who cant speak your language but stay anyways, people who dont want to learn and just be carried, raid trolls wiping on purpose, and horribly prepared people (still running blue weapons, no exotics or good legendaries) then maybe you can understand raid elitism. Until then stop complaining and start posting. As you can see by replies there are plenty of people in the same boat with you. So why not pick some of them up for a raid team and have fun. Everyone and i mean EVERYONE on LFG goes through this hurdle even on Day 1 of the raid. Are you gonna go over the hurdle and have some fun or sit back and complain about it.

          • Make your own group. It's how I did it. I had 2 or 3 people from my clan and we had people teach us and it was pretty straightforward. In terms of people wanting experienced players, no one wants to sherpa. I don't either. People just want to get it done and not risk being stuck for hours.

Made a post yesterday basically titled (LW: Anyone willing to "teach" me?) Got a team really quick. Just let them know you kind of know what to do via from watching videos, though they may need to go over some stuff again, and have the required gear. Generally they won't say no.

            • Every. single . raid I've done solo using lfg , I followed these simple steps. 1.Watch YouTube walkthroughs and make a effort to understand basic mechanics. 2. Make my own lfg stating "RAID no experience needed. You'll find lots of people in the same scenario as you. 3.spend many hours failing and winning sometimes not getting it done that day but using checkpoints. 4.All done Now I can make LFGS asking for people with experience.

Same thing happened to me. I just watched videos and subsequently joined raid groups until I completed the two main raids. I never got to do the raid lairs, but at this point I don’t care anymore. I’m pretty much done with D2 for now.

              • My suggestion would be watch a video, and go on lfg. There are a lot of people willing to help out on there as long as you are competent.
