You do realize that dedicated servers won't stop other players from lagging, and can actually increase their delay time in many instances, right?
People with bad connections will still have bad connections even if routed to a server first, and the latency caused by people being routed to a server further away from you will actually increase the discrepancy between themselves and you when P2P would have been less.
P2P and Dedicated Servers both have their ups and downs, but neither one stops lag.

You do realize that the problem isn’t about individual internet connection speeds but the host’s console managing the load and connections for everyone?

Destiny 2 doesn't have a host console like Destiny 1 had. Destiny 2 has a hybrid system, Bungie's servers now stand in for what a fireteam member used to do, hosting the instances; Bungie's server now takes care of the game world, the physics, the NPCs/mobs. The only thing that a client's console/computer now had to deal with is reacting to what other players are doing. In PvE, this doesn't matter as much; it mainly only matters if another player gets in front of your shot when attacking an enemy. In PvP, it matters a great deal, as connection issues that a player experiences can lead to missed feedback (hit registration, etc), as where you may have seen a player in front of you and fired a shot, the server taking care of that physics knows exactly where that player as far as its concerned and may have decided your shot didn't hit. That last bit, lag, is still lag, and will still be there dedicated server. If it's your lag to the server, the hit registration will still fail. If the other player is lagging to the server, then your hit registration will hit them (because the server says you did) and then they'll complain that you were lagging and shot them when you shouldn't have been able to. Either way, people with bad connections will still have and cause issues.

I love people like you who make their imagination reality by stating it. Destiny 2 works as virtual servers. That doesn’t make them servers. We aren’t connected to servers, we are connected to each other’s. Please continue to BS, at least it gives you the possibility to talk about internet speed to someone running a 1Gig/sec connection. Cheers!

Well no it's not about internet connection(in some cases it is true) but the main issue is lantacy or players don't have their routers configured correctly. It doesn't help if your connecting to players way outside your region like California connecting to China. Now if we had dedicated servers (which would probably be in Washington because this is were their headquarters is located). Ppl will still lag because of their distance(lantacy is still an issue). Now some games have region servers(pretty much region locking). They can be quite costly thus the need to be heavy on microtransactions or charge monthly fee. It definitely would help mitigate lag. Though population may be low too so it could take longer to find ppl.
