I was trying to get the chronicler seal when I realized I only had two entries on this book 'Truth to Power'. When searching online, I saw people saying that they got two in one week, and ppl that didnt get a single one. I also heard it's one per strongest curse week, when you visit mara sov.
If that's true, well, we would be looking at 6 months minimum until we get that book completed, thus, aquiring that sweet seal.
So, summing it up, we have this chronicler pin on bungiestore, that's ending on the 30th of march. That's an impossible item to get at the current situation, unless someone assaults bungie's pin hideout or some crazy dude buys it for $777,777.77.
What I'm trying to say here is, Bungie, give us some clarification on how to get these entries, there are ppl out there that's grinding these seals and actually interested on those pins too. I'm linking here a post on reddit in case you guys wanna take a look.
unless someone assaults bungie's pin hideout or some crazy dude buys it for $777,777.77.
Bungie store has a purchase limit of $3,000. Pins cannot be bought for a full price, it's just a joke price.

The once per visit per account is not true. It is completely rng, just odds are that with 3 characters you'll at least get one. It is the 7th time Mara has been available as of this comment and I have 6/11. This entire book is based on RNG and having RNG in seals is not entirely bad, until you factor in timed lockouts like this one.
TLDR: Seals are varied in difficulty due to skill and RNG , however no amount of grinding can change time gated content. The Lore seal has all of those factoring into it and books like Truth to Power should be adjusted.
I can grind Gambit bounties and get The Drifter lore book within weeks with all three of my characters if I just sit there and grind Gambit non stop. That type of RNG, imo, is fine because only the dedicated will get it first. I took the time to make sure I got every timed lockout triumph for the Wayfarer seal (believe I was one of the first ppl to get it on xbox) as it is designed to only be available after a reasonable amount of time since Forsaken launched. Those two sides of the spectrum are fine, dedication can outweigh RNG odds and simple research can maximize time gated triumphs. Where this system breaks is in the Lore seal, and more specifically the Truth to Power book. It is broken because both extreme RNG odds and the longest occurring time gating is in effect here. Truth to Power has you waiting till the full curse week (every 3 weeks) to get a 1/3 chance at best to get a lore entry. Not earning a TtP lore entries in one week greatly inhibits your progress towards the triumph and is very similar to the Mysterious Box RNG+Time Gating odds. I admire players with Rivensbane, Cursebreaker, Dredgen, and especially Unbroken because I know that they put the time and effort into earning those seals and those players truly earned the title. They beat the RNG odds by putting time in and were skilled enough to complete the more challenging tasks. Wayfarer is the most trivial one but is almost purely time gated so it is easy to anticipate and is always available (as long as you have the shards to complete the collections badges). The outlier is the Lore seal because TtP book being RNG+Time gate set to the max. It would be rewarding for players if they could get a Truth To Power chance when visiting the Oracle and a guaranteed TtP when visiting the court. That would strengthen the odds of dedicated players to get the TtP lore book completed by the 7th Queen visit (which makes sense because Bungie loves the number 7).
How exciting would you be if you saw Mara disappear after that amazingly cryptic speech for you to get the final chapter in TtP. Instead you get another bad Waking Vigil roll and it's back to waiting on the stoop of the court like a bored little kid.
1 ReplyYeah this lore book is bs. I didn't get any lore this past most cursed week. Sitting at 2 total. If only the oracle offering glitch still worked...i'd do it in a heartbeat at this point.

Book 6: Truth to Power This lore book will be the one that will take the longest to complete, as it seems that players can only get one entry (occasionally two due to a random bug) when the Dreaming City Curse is at its highest. Players earn a lore entry when they open the chest in Mara’s throne world. This means that players only get one entry every three weeks. Unless new ways to get entries unlock down the line, players will still be working on this when Black Armory launches.

3 RepliesEdited by BioZombieActive: 11/12/2018 8:31:31 PMOne of my clanmates has this book completed already. I only have TWO entries, I never got one from the 1st strongest week.
