Journal Entry 496 - Leads [Fanfiction]
<I've taken 2 steps to ensure the "hey don't read this if you don't care" thing comes to mind. This includes extending the tag from "fanfic" to "fanfiction" and adding the latter to the title. This is also probably the worst climate to post this on but honestly I would've done it anyway. Like I stated earlier, I'm going up to 500 and stopping for... somewhere between Black Armory and Joker's Wild, probably well before the latter because there's some VERY interesting things I hope to see. Anyways, enjoy, block, downvote, whatever. I'm making an ACTUAL lore post after this is done.>
<"I've been everywhere. EVERYWHERE. I've been looking for nearly a week now and I didn't find a single lead on my next target. That is, until I went to the Dreaming City. I landed on the edge of the Divalian Mists. It's the first time I've seen the curse in person. There were Blights everywhere, not just on the rocks but in the air. How can anybody even breathe in this place? The whole City is a death trap for anyone not imbued with Light or Darkness. The first sign that I was the odd one out was when I passed a Corsair. She was holding her side like she was shot, but even then she was able to pull a gun on me and tell me to stay back. Then what I presumed to be her attacker came lumbering around the rock. I took a couple bullets to get to the Knight. In hindsight I probably should've tried to ease the injured Awoken. The next sign was when the Taken surrounded me but did not fire. I killed all but one and attempted to question it, only for it to somehow wedge its shield between us and push me off. I killed that one, too. Things got strange when I saw an odd Shrieker. Unlike the previous two, this one did not attack. It was silver in color, and looks as if it was polished. It allowed me to get close. A good look showed that it was made of fused Vex parts. I destroyed the Shrieker and took a piece. I'm still scanning it. Then, I found something. It was a Wizard. A quick scan labeled it as 'Yukoor, Overseer'. I remembered the simulation of my previous target's armor and where it came from. It was this witch that took the armor from my current target. I'm surprised I was able to make her talk... somewhat. She was vague but eventually I got a name out of her. Now many will say that I already had a name for my target, In Sulok. Well, she changed it, the witch wouldn't refer her as In Sulok anymore. 'Vera ad Astra'. It's a combination of at least 2 pre-Golden Age languages. Not only that, but it's a clear change from typical Hive naming conventions. Hell, it's not Hive at all, it's all human. Whatever, I'll decipher the name after I'm done with the armor piece. I killed the witch and moved on. I got to my ship only to see a pack of Scorn swarming it. I killed a few, got in my ship, and let out the Worm. I can't believe I'm saying this, but 'Jerry' is good at killing things." - Entry 496 of Light and Dark +1> <Vol 2 Masterpost:https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/249924166>
