What article did you read? The article that I read said that Activision was disappointed in getting people to actually come back to Destiny the player retention not anything to do with eververse or microtransactions

  • They’re disappointed with the amount of money it’s making. They don’t really care if that money comes from game sales or microtransactions as long as they make a ton of it, and right now they don’t think they’re making enough.

  • Yes of course they're the publisher they want a return on their investment no one's fault in them for wanting to make money they stayed in the article that they think the best course of action here is to get their core playerbase backup because they saw a dip in it since Destiny 2 release to forsaken release they say that they feel the hardcore player base that they saw come to Destiny 2 and then leave are still in "wait and see mode" this is why they gave Destiny 2 base game away for free on battle net to let those players come back and see the changes that Bungie's made and give it a second chance this will also putting the DLCs on sale will hopefully bring them a prophet
