Gambit - Tune your load outs and learn about weapon perks before you accuse someone of cheating

The clan was in a gambit match and in the first round we melted our prime evil in about 10 seconds after killing the two wizards. I immediately get this message from one of the players on the other team "HOW TF?" We giggled and agreed to share the formula we were using after the match. We actually ended up losing the match altogether due to messing around and focusing on achievements. After the loss I took a screenshot of my load out and sent it to the player that messaged me. Bottom tree nova bomb with Tractor Cannon Two Blade Barrage Hunters One middle tree Arc Warlock Boop, nova that sticks, keep booping, everyone else use supers. I received the following message back "Lag Switching C**ts" Seriously? So the lesson here is this... think about your load outs. Our method worked for us that day and there are far more ways to do it than what I just described. The point is, just because you didn't put any effort or thought into making sure your weapon perks and subclasses work well together both individually and across the team doesn't automatically make cheaters of the opposing team. Edit: This post has really gained some traction. I think it is awesome that everyone is sharing their strategies and experiences, however good or bad they may be. This is what the community is supposed to be about and y'all are awesome! For those few that are salty about this post or hold the notion that melting a prime evil goes against the competitive nature of the game, I think that any of us would encourage you to do the following. Take note of the shared methods, get your group together and find one or more that works best for you. Use them well and reap the rewards. I think that the most important thing to remember in this game type is that communication is key. If you are a solo player get on the LFG and get into a chat party. Time your drops with the other teams invasion potential in mind to minimize lost motes. Dedicate one player to hunt the invaders and dedicate another one or two to invade. The last thing you want to see is everyone running around grabbing up motes from under other teammates with no system in place or two people hugging the portal trying to be the first one in.

i was able to reach Dredgen last week during the double and triple XP event. my last challenge was acquiring the Gambit ghost which meant resetting my rank 3 times.. i was early into my 2nd reset but i needed a lot of wins even with boosted XP. so how u ask? i found a team of all solos from the LFG portion of this app. we just played casually but also communicated when to bank, when to invade and when to melt the boss. super simple, casual things. melting the boss was key cuz i cant tell u how many times we were behind on motes but we were able to come back and win from beating our boss faster than the other team. its doable if people actually gave this game mode some thought. like i said, we kept it simple. 2 chaos reach warlocks.. i didnt even have geomag boots 2 blade barrage hunters.. we didnt have a titan for melting point we killed enemies, picked up motes randomly, banked motes occasionally (i rarely deposited 15 motes.. i was ok with depositing 10-13 motes at a time just to get ahead and give our invader a chance at invading). we had someone who we designated as our invader. he always invaded and we ALWAYS left the heavy ammo for him to pick up. ALL THE TIME. no one else touched the heavy ammo bank. its crucial he had ammo when invading. we told him when the heavy ammo was available (this all seems simple and something everyone should know right?). when we were invaded by the opposing team, we all looked around, called out if we do OR dont see him and we tried to gang up and kill him. if he was really good, then we just stay back. again.. simple and commonsense. when it was time for the primeval, we all had supers saved up and we killed the wizards first with regular weapons. afterwards we usually waited til a stack of x3 (if we were really behind we would go at x2) and unload all supers on the boss at once. 2 chaos reach + 2 blade barrage = instakill on primeval. i am not exaggerating when i say ‘instakill’ on x3 stack. we even felt bad for the teams who were ahead but we managed to pull out victories because we were quicker to kill our boss. others may have different boss strats like titan melting point or tractor canon boops. this is what we did and i just wanted to share with everyone how you CAN win in this game mode with a little communication and commonsense. ** 22-1.. check my warlock gambit matches for proof. i’m an average player who just put in the work and hours. doable. 👍🏼
