My biggest gripe right now is (besides missing Trials) that I can only play Doubles once a month. Quickplay matchmaking seems to be completely random, and a lot of the time I maybe have one or two people to run with during the week, which means I'm usually relying on matchmaking to give me some decent teammates. With the current matchmaking, this hardly happens. We always end up carrying a bunch of casual players or getting wrecked by stacked teams.
With Doubles, it's a lot different. I don't mind carrying a "blueberry" because, for the most part, two combatants is pretty manageable since you're not getting team shot from four different directions. You get an opportunity to focus on loadouts and the mechanics. It just feels a bit more methodical than any other mode.
I didn't mind Quickplay as much when it was teams of 4, but now that there's 6 people running around it can get a bit chaotic. Doubles can be challenging at times, but it's a lot more fun overall for smaller teams playing together-- or even the solo player that doesn't want to play Rumble.
I think Doubles would be the perfect medium for people who have a friend on and don't want to run Quickplay with randoms. Just my two cents... thoughts, anyone?
