Powerful Gear from Bounties still dropping weaker than higher level gear
Completed a Bounty with Powerful Engram reward. Got a helmet thats Weaker than my currently equiped helmet. Fix it

1 ReplyYou do know powerfull gear drops 2 levels higher than YOUR OWN light level. Not your gear level.

Same here. I completed the Mars flashpoint on my 578 warlock. Powerful engram dropped at 550-something

When I hit 590, started farming Primes on Nessus due to the lack of progress with weak Powerfuls. After few days (3 primes daily) 599, and 600 after weekly reset.

Powerful drops don't drop based upon what gear you currently have equipped. If all of your gear, except for one piece, is 590, then chances are that your overall power is 590. Thus, the 593 is indeed more powerful. Just bad luck that it dropped somewhere you can't utilize it.
