The state of the game is...

I used to be a hardcore but Bc of my schedule I’m a causal now. I have to say Bungie, you’ve done a great job of creating layered rewards (which I’ve said repeatedly elsewhere is exactly what we need). Long term quests and Jesus-rolls, but quick and accessible play sessions for time strapped players... even story is unfolding this way, which is phenomenal, and I don’t mind letting cutscenes only be for the juiciest moments and mid-mission dialogue, secrets, and lore be the primary way we uncover story... that mysterious method of storytelling has always been bungie ever since Halo... You’ve even brought some awesome layered reward activities for the festival event. Even eververse is far less frustrating with prismatic, bounties, and even more purchasables, and double engrams for events... Also, increasing challenge frequency through the week so we can do more of specific activities we prefer and still get a reasonable reward... Additionally you have been quick to inform us of upcoming fixes for the few problems we do still have: cores, nightfall drop chance progression, malfeasance quest drop, damage bugs, sleeper targeting... I’m extremely happy with the state of the game, I especially will be after Oct. 30. Bc I am a casual Bc of time, but I love depth so I’m a hardcore at heart... you’ve struck a very good balance with forsaken that both groups have something enjoyable and rewarding to do every time they log in. No game is perfect (I’m looking at you IB power enabled, and boss stomp)... oh and uh planet materials for infusion are still a bit high... maybe 10-15? but this is really close. Thank you Bungie!
