Well it was explained in the normal version of D1 before they changed the story.
The exo story is the only one used now...wich we played.
The awoken story would have started with you crashing in that first ship we scanned in mission 2.
That crashed ship.
But only the exo story was used...😂

It was the Exo story that was used, not the Human story. That’s why the Queen refers to the Guardians as “it/they”

Last I remember I thought it was the exo story we started in D1.

There were exos before the collapse. Possibly military units leading civilians out of the Cosmodrome, or just plain civilian workers.

I seem to vaguely remember the exo story starting in old Chicago before the reboot.

The crashed ship was a result of the guardian, with the help of skolas, escaping the reef and the queens plot to kill us in the POE while fighting Skolas. The cosmodrome was supposed to be the last area we visit

Each of the 3 classes were supposed to have their own origin story ( like the first Dragon Age game had for Humans, Elves and Dwarfs ), but somewhere along the lines during Destiny 1’s many extensive re-writes this idea was chucked in the bin and the Human origin story was used as the default one.

I’d rather call it the “mountain of lies” or “mountain of broken promises”.... or “mountain of this is what happens when you fire your creative story director less than a year before launch for no reason and then get stuck attempting to patch together some sort of story but epically fail in year one”

I’m pretty sure it’s the wrong mountain. Based upon where they were looking in that infamous video versus where the iron temple really is, opposite sides of the cosmodrome.
