I mean the point of concept art is to create references for style and elements that might be seen in the final product (or not), so it makes sense you'd see something like that, but not see it in the actual game for a while. There's also lots of things, like Charlemagne, you'll never see in the game based on what you see in concept art. For example, the Taken look nothing like the original concept art and we'll probably never see swamp people riding giant toads... Cool find though. It's good to know they used the artists work and put something of theirs in the game.

I just watched Bungies GDC 2013 Destiny presentation last night. Lots of interesting things to give insight to the pre-reboot story. Christopher Barrett was talking about how the giant toad was actually an idea exploratory phase before they decided to make Destiny science fiction with fantasy.
