(I think it's Deathless adventure that was at the beginning of this week...either way the one where you kill a knight 3 times...or 4)
I was just wondering, based on what Holliday and Sloane say, if the hive were testing something. Yes, i mean testing. I think somewhere the awoken state that even their (hive or taken) magic is still just science.
So what would the test be? If it is Deathless, and they were "throwing their hand", was it just to prove the knight was able to come back? Isn't that against their beliefs, like a form of necromancy, similar to why Nokris was booted?
The only thing I can say maybe doesn't mean it was necromancy, was because the soul moved on to another spot, like it was still alive in a way. I guess I'm like Holliday, just trying to understand why the knight and wizards were testing this out, why they were performing THIS ritual specifically.

doesn't Dûl Incaru come back from death too?
-
Could be that we are killing Savathuns daughter over and over giving Savathun power each time. This was a test to see if it would work maybe? Just my two cents.
-
So the sword logic can be proved with science?!?!?! Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Ana Bray stated that hive magic was science. Could that be linked to Dul Incaru, the Eternal Return?
-
Death is kind of hazy for a lot of our enemies. The Fallen can be reanimated as Scorn. The Hive have several methods of avoiding or undoing death: ascendant realm being the one we know about. The Vex are just part of a greater collective, so killing a drone doesn't affect the greater whole. Maybe that's why the Cabal hit us... they're the only "dead is dead" group, and they're jealous.

Could be linked to oversouls. They describe them as just pockets of space time where that entity kills itself over and over.
-
The Hive were studying a shard of the Traveler back in D1. Perhaps they figured out how to create their own Ghosts.
-
Awoken magic is above the laws we have. Transcended science it would be.
-
Maybe they were "sucking" the tribute out of our interactions together, every time we killed the knight the Wizards took the tithing from the killing and were planning on feeding off it?
-
The knight was ascendant, it was attempting to push the limits of ascendency. That’s all there is to it.

It could lead into the resurrection of certain hive entities
