Let’s get this changed. The MW Core requirement for infusion needs to go. That is all.
Thank you.
Edit: thank you all for voting. Let’s keep this going. Tell your friends. I want there to be no doubt that our community wants this change, and not ‘soon’ but immediately. The life and longevity of this expansion need this change to infusion now (not saying it’s all it needs). I’ve been a part of this community since the very beginning. I love Destiny and I love this community. My intentions here are all positive and this isn’t about me. It’s bigger than one gamer. Let’s do this Guardians.
Edit 2: almost 1000 votes! I know content creators and the Destiny Subreddit have also been influencing this change, but I feel very proud that we at least got a quick answer to this problem. Not the exact solution we wanted but it’s something. Great work guardians!

5 RepliesI love to see the people that have no life are against the removal of masterwork cores. They're called masterwork cores for a reason. They're for masterworking armor and weapons. I don't see how any part of that description fits into the infusion element. This decision was just a lazy fix for people who don't care about their players or the game that we play.

Well while we have these upvotes for getting rid of masterwork cores the dev team are also taking in feedback from twitter where all the streamers and etc are saying that the infusion system is fine when basically a streamer had to start this with saying that the infusion system should feel more than what it is. I swear if they listen to them on twitter.
-
Agree. I mean they are called masterwork cores not infusion cores. Should not have been made a part of infusion. Leave them for upgrading

Edited by Swoleson_Rebel: 9/24/2018 8:40:18 PMYeap. The crap needs to go MASTERWORK items should be for MASTERWORK gear Fking genius right?
-
Leave it like it is, it’s fine!
-
Yep. Totally. Make it so.

I say remove until 10th

11 RepliesBungie does not care. Anything they do now will cost them players. 1) They finally decide to remove MW cores from infusion - They wank off the hardcore player/streamer crowd because they realize that the mechanic was meant to target them. 2) Bungie does nothing and continues to lose average/new/returning players who cannot/will not spend time grinding for ludicrous cores to overcome the even more ludicrous progression system.
-
1 ReplyAgreed the mw's need to be removed from the infusion process
-
2 RepliesYessir. No MW cores for infusion. I think the grind for Planetary Materials is enough; or maybe they should just raise the shards requirement for infusion to keep it difficult. I understand that Bungie wants players to experiment with the new drops, whether they are Blue or Legendary, instead of just clinging to our Season 1 gear and revitalizing it like Frankenstein every time we get a higher Light Level piece of gear... But there should be a balance; for example, I love some of the new items, like the Scorned Baron Robes; I absolutely wear those instead of my previous Warlock robes, but then I'll have, say, my Last Hope sidearm that is crucial to my PvP build, and when I'm playing Iron Banner, I'm crippled because my Last Hope is stuck at 340, and I'm forced to use some garbage submachine gun at 520 if I want to have a chance. PS: They should replace the Masterwork Core requirement for infusion with Edge Transits.

1 ReplyLet's be clear, eliminated from infusion. Not more was to obtain them through bounties or drop rates. Right now Spider sells them but the cost is double from the first one(ie: 10,20,40,80,160)
-
I am not as raving as everyone else but they should be used for Masterworking gear. Right now I mostly use whatever I get from a drop besides a Raid setup I JUST put together.
-
1 ReplyThere's 2 different processes here i.e. infusion and master working. Master work cores are meant for master working and have no place in the process of infusion. Bungie is going to harm the casual player base. It's just too difficult for the casual player base to full masterwork or constantly infuse a weapon or multiple weapons.

Remove them or kill two birds with one stone... Go back to earning clan rep based on completing Milestones. Change the Clan Bounties to award 5 Masterwork Cores per bounty. Clan Bounties for rep are horrible for smaller clans and this would fix that while still appeasing the "make them special" group when it comes to infusion. I think this is a fair trade off.

They should keep the infusion system as it is, but add gunsmith bounties that reward cores. Meaning players can easily grind for them. You could have things like "get 100 pulse rifle kills in the EDZ" that rewards 2 cores, "20 shotgun kills on challenging enemies" that rewards 5 cores, etc. That way it is giving players more stuff to do. On a monday when i haven't got a lot to do as i have done all my power engrams i could be like hmmm i might go and grind some gunsmith bounties for an hour and get some cores. Also gunsmith bounties that reward mods would be good as well.

2 RepliesSimple: We kill the Batman.

The obvious choice here is to remove them completely from infusion, but I have a feeling Bungie isn't going to do that. Given their track record, I can see them adjusting prices and more avenues to earn them.

You have my axe!!!
-
9 RepliesYou know if you infuse two of the same items together, it only costs about 5000 glimmer, right?
-
1 ReplyI'd much rather the cores just become more available/farmable. That way their purpose of being a stop gap on fast progression can still exist. But people who put the time in can feel like they're making headway. Easiest way to accomplish this is by making petra another resource sink (dark fragements for a bundle of cores at a heafty price,) allow the directior activies (daily/weekly objectives) give cores in addition to the engrams, and possible bounties that reward some. What they do is fine. It's their availability that's the problem. Scrapping the current infusion system would be a huge step back.

ABBA!

Yes this is a massive handicap for me I can't infuse my fav weapons to be usable because there is no way to get MWC unless I pay spiders rediciulous prices and use up all my shards that you also need 25 of to infuse 1 piece of gear. I have never had over 200 shards. It's dumb having high prices for infusion. I'm having to use rubbish weapons with trash rolls just because they are 510+ and hate every minute of it.

3 RepliesJust wait until jackass blind rich people start to harass you about your thoughts on the new infusion system if there already are some here. People who are like that promote Bungie's wrongdoings.
