I have did a lot of thinking.I read some lore and watched YouTube videos.Im not lore master.I putting this theory out there,Hoping lore master can use it and compare it to the lore.See if this theory has some legs to stand on. This will be a long post with bits and pieces theory and insight.I also have something somebody told me who worked at Bungie when they was making the original story before changes.This piece of info is the Key to my theory. Warning My theory isn’t 100% put together..more of an outline. So I had a friend that worked at Bungie during they earlier stages of Destiny 1 story and lore creation.This is what he said was original ideas...How much has changed I don’t know.I do know this originally Rasputin AI was lock behind 3 EXO’s The gunsmith Cayde and 1 other..they changed that.In original Destiny 1 you had to rescues all 3 and get them to upload Rasputin’s AI back in to the warmind system at different Locations.We know that has changed. What he did Say and claims that is still true.Is that Destiny is a simulation of Ragnarok. Here is some thoughts and insights he gave me along time ago. So the simulation theory works like this. Ishtar and Clovis Bray scientist Find Vex Tech in the real world and study it.They learn to create a life like Simulation with the tech. The Vex are not good or bad.They are protecting Time and Reality and dimensions.The Vex exist in true reality and the Simulation.Some of the Vex In Simulation was corrupted When Corta Corrupted them in the Simulation.Kinda Like Malware or a virus.Vex have never attacked the city or human settlements...We have always showed up and attacked the Vex.Venus People where all ready dead in the Simulation as the same with Mars.They only Defend their sleeves when we trespass.They want Osiris because he is hacking the code in the simulation and real life..messing with Time Travel and dimensional travel. The Fallen are in the real world and we did have a war with them.They are represented in the Simulation.They are shown trying to Rebuild their selves with Salvage and to be protected by the Traveler. The Cabal is real and in the simulation also.They are a conquering Alien Army. The Traveler Exist in the Simulation and Real world.Yet not the Traveler as we know in the Simulation. The Darkness is A Army and Force from another dimension.We we call the void or The deep.They are real and in the Simulation also. The Simulation was created out of panic..We where at war with the Cabal and the Darkness and rouge Fallen.The Darkness only wants the Traveler.Yet we stood to protect It.We took Major loses and it was our Ragnarok.So the scientist create the Ragnarok Simulation to help plan and design a game plan to fight back and win. The Awoken are People who are in the Simulation but who have not chosen a side in the real world.Almost like Hackers or like Neo in the matrix..The Awoken know more then they tell.. The Nine are the original Scientist and Software that create the simulation. Rasputin is a real Defense system that is real but also in the simulation to monitor and determine if our actions can win the war. Ghosts are people in the simulation Using Guardian avatars.Thats why No Ghost then the avatar in Simulation is dead. The Mysterious Stranger is A Clovis Bray Family Member Who exist in the real world...But Hacked the Simulation to give us Info..Hoping to Change things.Her sister Ana Bray is just a simulation.Ana Died in the real world. The Queen of the reef is in the real world and has left the Simulation as of now.Her Brother Uldren Was stuck in the Simulation and was corrupted and died in the Simulation and real world. That’s why glimmer looks like pixels..or blocks of pixels from an old games. The Fallen tried simulating Light with either food substance.The Vex and the People running the simulation can Simulate what they want. Why do you think we do the same strikes missions patrols over and over again.Because its a simulation of Possible outcomes. Crucible is a Simulation Of Guardians On Guardians Combat training..in a simulation. Gambit is a Simulation if fighting enemies and fighting Rouge Guardians. There is a Rouge group in the real world that rejected the Traveler and those who support it..The Mysterious Stranger was one of those. I also believe The real world is in a worst shape then the simulation.I believe Destiny 3 at the end of it life cycle will confirm the Simulation and leave it open For Destiny 4. Rasputin even said in the Warmind DLC that he was tried of being programmed and told what to do.That he is going to do it his way.I believe sometime in Destiny 3 he will start waking up Guardians from the Simulation. I believe the real Darkness in the real world and the Vex have hacked the Simulation.I believe in the real world outside the simulation many years and centuries have past.Those Guardians in the Simulation are some of the last remaining few. I believe there is already hints and Easter eggs in D1 and D2 and lore hinting at this being a Ragnarok Simulation. Nessus is an unstable Centaur.We never had a Presence there.Exodus Black crashed when it was attacked.It is never stated it was attacked by the Vex.The Exodus Black crew attacked the Vex and they Vex defended it self. It never said the Vex attacked first.The Vex was actually turning Nessus into a livable planet. Venus Ishtar knew the Vex had a Presence there.We where researching Vex Tech and stumble across the Vault Of Glass..And then we forced our way in as Guardians and the Vex protected it self. The Vex On Mercury creates a planet size Simulation machine the infinite Forrest.And Osiris and other Guardians tried to invaded the Forrest.Once Again the Vex protected its self.The Vex was running simulations on how to defend its self from The Darkness and the Cabel. The Vex has Never engaged us in War on a Planet First.We as Guardians and Humans have always engaged them first. The lore never states the Vex strikes first.Only the fights we have had with the Vex.A lot of assumptions that Vex is guilty.For instance we attacked and raid the Vault Of Glass. The Vault Of Glass was a sacred place for the Vex.One Of their main space,Time and dimensions Confluxes. It says it wants to rid the universe of invaders..IE Cabal and the Darkness..the future we saw in the infinite Forrest wasn’t the Vex point of View but a version of corrupted Vex. It also says Exdous Black discovered the Vex On Nessus and attack out of fear..And the Vex slaughtered them in response. Mercury already had a dormant Vex On it.We awaken them.Also remember half the Vex in our Universe where corrupted.Remember the Black Garden was infected by the Darkness. EDIT A couple of Easter Eggs about the Simulation In Destiny 2 I promised I would post... In the strike The Inverted Spire.There is dialogue that’s states the Cabal is Mining Nessus for minerals and to get to the mind so they can control the Simulation On Nessus.It is in some of the Alternate Dialogue for the Strike. Also our ghost has a few Alternate line where he asks the Vex to stop shooting.That we are not the Cabal.He has another version where our ghost says we are not the Cabal and we are on the same side to the Vex. In Tree of Probabilities it is stated the Cabal is using the Infinite Forrest to run simulation on how the Cabal can win the Red War. In Alternate Dialogue it is stated the Cabal is running simulations on how to Win the Red War to change the Simulation. Something to Think On... Secondly why would the Cabal who lost the Red War already be running simulations on how to win a war they already lost?The Cabal does not have any means of Time Travel.
