I’ve seen this on reddit a few times but not enough, and I REALLY hope Bungie sees this because it’s an EASY FIX.
Currently, in order to switch the element on Hard Light, you hold X (or square for PS players). This means that whenever I have to use the ACTION button at all, I am forced to switch the element on my Hard Light, which is very annoying and unnecessary.
Bungie,
If you could, please bind the “change element” piece of Hard Light to something else, like a d-pad button for instance. I love using this weapon and would appreciate a more seamless experience when doing so.
Best,
Guardians everywhere

What I think they should do is make the "Player Highlight" button (right thumbstick by default) customisable in the options menu and make a few options for it like, - Swap elements "click right stick instead of holding Reload button to swap elements on weapons that support this feature" - Flashlight "Click right thumbstick to turn your ghosts flashlight on at will" (potentially disable for crucible assuming it can blind people) - Some other third thing "click right stick to do whatever other thing I can't think of at the moment" If anyone has more ideas comment that's what I got and the more I typed it the more I was thinking it could be really fun and useful.

Anybody who denies this as a problem hasn't had the weapon equipped, then tried to revive someone. Nice one Bungo hold X to revive, and hold X to change element WTF were u thinking.

Edited by Age of Electric: 8/30/2018 6:07:25 PMI haven't had that problem, and I use Hardlight regularly. I find the difference between the quick tap to reload and the hold for elemental swap to be a non issue. Even using the action button for anything else in game doesn't impact Hardlight at all. EDIT: having said that, the idea of mapping the element to something else isn't a bad one

So much this. I haven't used hard light for long since I only got it a few weeks ago but this is so painfully true.

THIS! I like the choice, however, when I have my Hard Light set to the element I want, I have to intentionally switch to my kinetic to activate a switch to avoid the pain of switching that element back. Relatively stupid QOL problem in the game.
