Iron banner for solo players is terrible.
Edit, after some Reactions from some toxic little forum pirates I wanted to rephrase my post.
As a solo player (yes I play with a team sometimes but the timezones won't always allow it to play with teammates) crucible in general, but in this case iron banner matchmaking should me more satisfying and less frustrating.
I've been going inside matches back to back against teams of 4,5 or 6 constantly while my team exists of 6 solo players.
Yes I hear you that you could still win, the chances of that are very slim considering this game is so teamshot heavy, and with good communication you could very easily lock zones on controle.
I'm not a tech guy so I do not understand how matchmaking works, but I've played many multi-player shooters and matchmaking is just much much more creative and balanced.
Suggestions:
-I like controle but game modes like clash are less teambased and easier for solo players so give us a choice between both
-change matchmaking so it's more or less fireteams vs fireteams and solo vs solo
-force fireteam chat on in crucible, until you manually turn it off
-create lobbies before entering a match where people can communicate
I know its a lot to ask but please be constructive in your feedback.

3 RepliesIt wouldn’t be an issue if you won matches. I ran solo in a few matches yesterday, not a big deal. I swear some need to just pop a midol, change their tampon, eat a Snickers and wash it down with a super big gulp of STFU, it’s just a video game.

1 ReplyI disagree. It is not terrible and it is not the best "evah" either. I pretty much play solo, at least in crucible and iron banner. Sometimes I'm on a winning team, sometimes I am not. I have seen some very lopsided wins and losses and some very close wins and losses. My experience runs the gamut of possibilities and chalk that up to realistic expectations of a network-connected system and the possibilities of what random assignments can produce. To expect a specific outcome on matchmaking is pie-in-the-sky, looking through rose colored glasses view of the real world. Iron Banner is 6v6 Control, it's what we get. I actually do better at control than I do at Clash. The real world of match making is not as simple as what many think. If you have a fireteam of two or three, that is not a full team. How are they to be connected if it's fireteam vs fireteam and solo vs solo? Like I've said, I play solo and I have been on a team of randoms where we destroyed a team of 5 clanmates plus one. I have also been on teams that got destroyed by teams of clanmates as well as teams that appear to be made up of randoms. I rarely take a look at the opposing team's makeup when we start. I do not need to look ahead for an excuse on why I might lose. I just play the game. I also prefer not speaking with lobby members before or after a match. It reduces the usual whining, followed by name calling and hurt feelings that result. Call of Duty before PS4 Chat Channel proved that to a T. I want the freedom to join fireteam chat when I want, not because the game forces me to. Too many idiots out there that just have to play their crappy music too loud during gameplay. Why force me into having to go through some action to not hear them and their selfish, use of the system? I am opinionated, that is a fact. I am also a curmudgeon who is thankful that I can play games like this. My motto is "Sit down, shut up and play." Everyone has an opinion, but everybody has the choice to either play or not to play.

They should have better matchmaking to lower the chance of teams vs solos, but they wouldn’t want to increase wait time (I wouldn’t mind). I honestly don’t expect to win much playing solo, but the biggest problem for me with IB is the lockdown system. I’ve never seen so many constant blowouts (winning or losing) with those locked control points. Bad change.

7 RepliesHere’s a fix and it’s easy: - Start Queue - watch the roster for big fireteams - exit MM when you see an undesirable amount of players in a fire team. - start queue again and repeat.

Matchmaking is broken. My team of 4 has won 2 games in 12 tonight. Almost always a blowout. I’m just trying to get my 5 wins. Probably won’t happen tonight.

4 RepliesIt isnt that bad, people want to win more? Cap the 2 zones and defend them. Make them come to you. Simple shit that everyone forgets. New system makes it so that trying to run 3 caps has a penalty of having to recap them.

3 RepliesWatch your roster and back out if you see a big team. It is really that easy. I only worry about my fun in games, so if I have to take a few mins to not get a full fire team I will gladly trade that.

4 RepliesIt really is. At a certain point in a match where I knew there’s no coming back I just stood back and dropped their entire team with Polaris lance. Keep in mind they’re all using vw or gl. At the end I manage to take one of three out with my antiope and their team had the nerve to tbag me because they team shot me down. Why the fck do I still play? Those losers are in for a rude awakening come September. Their ass is grass.
