Redrix Claymore not worth the grind effort.

Ok so I thought id give my feedback on this since Bungie says they are listening so here goes. Redrix Claymore is not worth the grind. Reason being is that every loss cost 10 points reduced on you rank. Now imagine someone getting started on the grind. Won two matches which in turn adds up to 45 points sitting at Rank 0. Then next 4 matches were all losses. Just lost 45 points. tries again and wins two to get the points back. Losses the next matches, lost 35 points. See where im getting at? Not necessary not good at crucible but its the losses that get to us. Quickplay Crucible is more fun and I am Rank 3 now and still progressing. Lost some matches but I am pushing forward. With Competitive the grind feels like it does not move forward but simply bounce up and down. So again, the Redrix Claymore is not worth the effort due to the losses that cost points. Id like to have it but not like this.

  • Kinda late but still pissed. I just got back into D2 after a summer of ignoring it, and I was playing quickplay (which, by the way, is so fun now). Afterwards, I saw that my competitive rank was 503. I was told you needed 1050 to get the gun which was absolute hell to reach. When I learned that the actual number was at least a 1000 higher, I lost all faith. I had been sweating with a four stack for days, and I could barely hit my current rank. None of us are bad at crucible, but it took way too much effort to get even halfway. Make the grind possible to people who are devoted.

  • I think that they need to keep some penalty for loss but it should be lower, and the loss streaks less severe. If you win one, lose one then you are going up for a little bit but the higher your rank is, the less you get for a win, so it just becomes slower and more tedious and eventually if you’re going even; 1 win : 1 loss, you aren’t moving at all. The main grind for Redrix’s Claymore shouldn’t be being perfect in Crucible, it should be mostly dedication with a sprinkle of skill. People who are bad at crucible will get good enough to persevere through it then, after playing for a bit, as opposed to just sitting there, feeling helpless.

  • Competitive should be points for a win, points for performance (10+ kills get extra points for example) and no points lost for losing a game.

    • And when you actually get it because you will. You will see that the gun is not that great =( sadly. It is a little bit lacking in range compared to other high damage pulse rifles, and it is IMO more of a pve gun than pvp. With all the team shooting going on you will not get the killing shot in many cases and you are left to a regular low rate of fire pulse rifle which is not competitive to GL or VW.

      • Winning 2 games is 25 points, yes its hard to get but the feeling when you get it is satisfying i bought two just to make sure, then i used it :(

Agreed. I've given up on the comp playlist. Too stupid to endure. Make comp progression like quickplay. It's still a grind to get up in the ranks. Losing points is dumb and outdated.
