How to set up for the Escalation Protocol:
The first one is an obvious one, all you need to do is level up through regular progression.
Find a fireteam using LFG and get 6 additional players. You are the 7th and the the other two blueberries for a total of 9.
Okay so to actually start this off though, have yourself find two blueberries actually ON MARS and message them to join your party.
Get them both to invite two of the people that are already in your party to Mars and you invite two people to Mars.
You now have 9 people to run escalation protocol.
Side note: if the blueberries don't actually want to do the event just ask them to invite party to game and make one of the people they invited to be fire team leader and then they can just leave if they want. If this happens obviously thank them for their time and effort...just be polite.
Hope this helps, everything else is on you guys.
Good luck Guardians.
Edit: if this helps please leave a comment to bump up for others to see.

2 RepliesYou need people actually playing first

8 RepliesThat's the worst pve system to date from these asshats. 9 ppl is logical for the event. Back in the day and still to this day ppl don't know how to lfg never mind co-ordinate 3 individual fire teams. Ppl aren't going to msg ppl. Some ppl have their settings turned up so they can't be messaged in game space. I think it's time to allow 6 man patrol teams. This game is still a mess.

Just ensure that whoever you give fireteam leader to understands what's going on, we had a great 9 man running yesterday and one of the leaders fast traveled to another area when we were trying to replace a few people who had to leave. We ended up having to accost some poor blueberry in patrol, special thanks to him for being helpful.

3 RepliesI need friends first. Lol.

7 RepliesGood guide, but the main problem is Bungie. For four years now, we've been asking for open chat, proximity chat, better ways to communicate with people yet they hope that we just reach out to people with messages. It works to an extent, but its just not streamlined enough. 99 percent of the time people are not going to remain friends after helping each other with a public event. Give us open, area specific chat and your problem is solved. For Xbox at least you have to: Pick a player Check the gamer card Go to profile Send a message Write the message Send it Wait for a reply...... Invite to party Play With open Mic chat it would be Hello, can I have help with this? Yes.

I rather have the ability to rent a planet for my clan without group restrictions.

Edited by Alvin Thwait: 5/14/2018 9:42:03 AMThis is exactly what needs to happen. Unfortunately there are very few random people you meet on patrols that are willing to join a party. I've tried this many times. I've managed to send messages to the random people on patrol. Crickets. It's a really dumb mechanic to have an event that require a large amount of participants but only allow a maximum of 3 people on a fireteam. They need to do what they did with empty public events a few months ago and reduce the amount of lobbies.

19 RepliesEdited by Aqua: 5/12/2018 5:24:20 AMAnother failure of Bungo. A public event that requires 9 players when patrols only allow 3 man fireteams.

4 RepliesAlas, my friends list is as barren as the Sahara. I've more chance of actually riding a camel to work.

I definitely don't have the friends on this game to do this currently, I've been just fast traveling over and over until I find some people who are running one. But for the last of 3 levels I need, I can't seem to find a group. Last fee times there's been five or so people in a spot, yet no one joins into the event when it fires up.

1 ReplyWhat do you think it the minimum light level to complete the 1st round? Assuming you can match up with 5 to 9 other players.
-
5 RepliesSo we need 9 players to have the firepower to do this event?
-
1 Reply8 clan members in chat .leave individualy to mars till three of u match up .then invite .easy

10 RepliesWe did this back in D1 for CoO, bungie should have just made it possible to split you fire team without going to orbit by now, would have solved this problem.

1 ReplyAre there 9 people playing Destiny ? Wow they beat their sales goals . Good for them
-
Someone with sense! Some idiot earlier tried inviting me and 6 other people to a party to try and “repeatedly load into the same area to find each other.” Like, wtf? Does the guy not know rare that is and how long it would take?

Anyone wanna do escalation protocol with me? Invite me to fireteam and party plz. PSN: JairedStar

We finally got our wish to get more people in a Patrol Zone. Too bad Bungie made it way more convoluted then it needed to be.
