Want To Finally Clear This To Everyone: The Fall 2018 Expansion Isn’t Savathûn.
We’ve all Fallen—I’m genuinely sorry—into believing that the Fall 2018 DLC will be about Savathûn, The Taken Queen, just because of the expansion being The Taken King style. This isn’t true, as in the end-of-campaign roadmap cutscene, after Mars, the Traveler’s Light passes through the Reef. This implies that the Fall 2018 DLC will be focused on the Fallen and Awoken. Savathûn and the Taken will most likely get their place in the next expansion, probably in 2019, set on the Dreadnaught. Also, it probably won’t be called The Taken Queen, and if it was, that would just be a horrible reuse of resources. So, that’s it. Fall, Fallen, 2019, Taken.

The whole scene was just to show us that the light woke The Darkness and that it's far away from Earth. I don't say your theory won't turn out to be true, but it's nothing more than a huge guess. If someone were to ask me I would say that the Fall DLC would be about Savathûn and that we would not get to meet the triangle ships until D3. Do we even know if there will be a fall expansion in 2019? It might as well just be D3, as it was originally planned with the games releases. And of course the Savathûn DLC won't be called The Taken Queen. It's just an ongoing joke.
