Few ideas: (probably already mentioned) Components that allow the ship to: - Orbital bombardment - Perform strafe runs - Transmat obstacles to work as cover as well to crush enemies with - Use the transmat capabilities as a loadout profile system. The better the ship+transmat mod the more loadouts you could have and the faster they would be in use. While some of the ideas for additional game modes sound fun, I think the game would be better served by expanding the existing modes with additional gimmicks. EDIT: Your ship would also function as your vault.
