The Cabal know Other species were provided the power over life and death from the traveler.
Are servitors an attempt by the Fallen to recreate their lost ghosts?

-
No. The ghosts were created at the traveler’s last stand on earth during the collapse. When the traveler was with the fallen and saw the darkness, it just ran. They never had ghosts.
-
Don’t think so. However I’d like to imagine Fallen ether being a direct result of the Eliksni’s civilization at its prime. Actually where does Fallen ether come from anyway?

I always thought we should get an ether based subclass. Like our ghost learned to convert ether to light when our light was taken from us. Ether super could have been grow big and get fallen captain shields / teleport for a period of time. It would have opened the door to an alliance with the fallen.

I would assume and hope .The new DLC warmind will offer some lore as to who the traveller is or what .Still wonder if it is still alive since it did kill Ghaul or was that just an overload of power or the traveller?.

You inspired me to make this. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/244523835/0/0 Thanks.

Ghosts weren't created until after the collapse I believe
-
No, Ghosts were created in the collapse because the Traveler needed guardians to protect it. It never gave Light to the Fallen because it fled when the Darkness came to their system.
-
The cabal were not granted the powers of the light. Ghoul simply took it, then was killed by the traveler

Edited by WALDO: 4/17/2018 2:54:11 PMI tell folklore that they worship them as idols of the traveller and that's why it left And no they were more like iron lords, the ghosts came as the traveller went dormant after the collapse....no ghosts for fallen, just immortals
-
There were no ghost (or guardians) until the traveler “died”. Its last action was to create the ghost to look for and create guardians to protect the Traveler while it was in stasis. As such no ghost for fallen.

The eliksni HAD possession of the traveler (what Variks refers to as the great machine). The traveler provided them with ether which is like their equivalent to oxygen. When the traveler left during the whirlwind, the eliksni chased after it to try get it back. Along the way they created the prime servitors to distribute ether out among the houses. Servitors were created to help with that process. If the servitors are reminiscent of anything it’ll be the traveller and it’s ether giving properties.

Should we just read the lore to you during your nap time?
-
They call um “get ups”
-
They had a golden age and also a collapse( the whirlwind for them ), the great machine( the traveler ) left before that. In the wake of the whirlwind they made servitors in the image of the great machine, also they provides their life force ether. Nothing to do with ghosts, and other species didn't receive the amount of power we did. Even the ones with the Gift Mast fell, also some great fleet( I need to go through Book of Sorrows again, you should read it ).
-
I always thought of servitors as like tiny a traveler, it may have enough power to revive the dead, but not much else.

There were never any Guardians from the Cabal or Fallen. So no. Additionally, there's a grimoire out there about the Cabal being unable to target Ghosts in battle. They don't actually even have a word for "Ghost" so they are translated as "Dead Person" throughout it. How I miss real lore.

Edited by Fenrir: 4/16/2018 9:42:43 PMNo, the ghosts are reserved for guardians. There are no fallen guardians as the traveller never had to make any to defend itself when it abandoned the fallen to the darkness. The reason the fallen want the traveller back so much is because it gave them a golden age just as it did us. They did not gain immortality through ghosts or anything like that.
-
<No.>
-
There is a concept art where a fallen has one. Not like our ghost in shape, think of it as a mini servitor
-
I was under the impression that the spherical shape of servitors was modeled after the traveler but I figured that was the extent of the in game-comparisons to the traveler.
-
That depends, are we talking standard lore or the folked version?

You has given me an idea.
