Question. Was that Saint 14 in the Infinite Forest the one from our reality? Or a different one? If not, is OUR Saint 14 still alive?

Story-wise, it is the one and only Saint-14. He went into the Forest to look for Osirus and then the Vex trapped him in a simulation. Apparently they trapped him in the vaulta and Saint literally fought to the death giving it his all resulting in [u] mountains[/u] of dead Vex. The Vex apparently "honor" him by creating a shrine of his body.

Much like a tree senses something that it needs to avert, the Vex "data" naturally grew around him.?

I am not sure. The comics depict him as a human dude. I found an Exo.

Exo makes sense. Like Banshee-44 the 14 in Saint-14 is how may times he has been rebooted.

The Cabal even make note of that in one of the old grimoire cards. Something about the Light allows ghosts to completely reconstitute a Guardian even if they've been reduced to atoms. We dont know what that 'something' is, but it's there. [u]Caveat about memory and resurrection:[/u] Initial resurrection results in permanent amnesia, as has been shown repeatedly in the lore. Cayde talks about it; it's shown when Shinobu dies, mortal, and then is resurrected as a Guardian, and I think your ghost even tells you this in the opening mission of D1. Every rez after the first one, though, we keep our memories. Ikora's over 156 years old, and said at point that she's lost track of how many times she's died. That means she remembers dying. Saladin's over 400 years old and has died countless times, yet remembers it all. Shaxx says the same thing when talking about the Battle of 6 Fronts.

Hope the one in our reality is still alive. He could be what brings Saladin, Shaxx, and Zavala back together and not hate each other. Just a theory tho lol
