Got a false error code?

So I was in the middle of playing competitive crucible with one of my clan members and we got kicked off/disconnected in the middle of the match. I got a buffalo code which apparently means that there are multiple sign-ins for destiny 2; however, I only have 1 PC that can even run Destiny. My clan member got kicked off too and his error code weasel. I double-checked on blizzard and there isn't any maintenance scheduled for this week for Destiny. What gives? Is this that rumored DDOS attack? My connection speed is about 100 Mbps and I'm connected through an ethernet cable, so it shouldn't be my connection that's the issue. Edit: So we tested it out. I no longer get disconnected, but my clan member that I'm playing with has gotten disconnected every time we went into a competitive match. If it was quickplay or anything else, he was fine. It was only specifically during competitive and has happened 3x as of writing this. His error codes were buffalo and baboon this time around. We tried resetting his modem and everything before our last game and it still happened. He's hardwired like me with the same kind of connection (we have the same ISP).
