Edited by Crescendoll_5555: 3/27/2018 8:43:42 PMI often wonder if I'm the only one that has noticed that: Destiny 2's "Inner Light" and Destiny 1's "Rise of Iron" have the same roadmap. Both have a soft entrance that introduces the main melody that crescendos and then it breaks down into a weird part that seems like it is supposed to be a darker tone. "Inner Light" has a longer introduction before the change in pace but they both do the same thing. After the "darker" section both pieces have the orchestra playing balls to wall just blasting the main melody in the conclusion of the piece. "Rise of Iron" has two break downs, before it gets really loud whereas "Inner Light" has a longer introduction. While the two pieces of music are not exactly the same, they do have very clear similarities.
I don't study music theory so the words I used may be incorrect.
Oh man yes!!! Especially when there’s epic music playing and I’m doing nothing in particular to match said music.
-
1 ReplyNah honestly it’s pretty average
wort
-
1 ReplyIt is so yawn inducing... D1 music created this magical atmosphere. In D2 ...It feels generic to me.
-
Hate it and have switched off the music. It's depressing rather than mysterious like D1. The opening brass sounds like someone farting in a bathtub.
-
hear, hear (pun intended) i actually loved the music when you lost your light and are climbing the mountainside.

Yea that's why we all buy video games! The music.
Stupid Extreme Luke Smith Sarcasm
-
It is excellent. Some of the more techno pieces are particularly cool.

11 RepliesHEY NINJAS THIS IS CLEARLY #FEEDBACK SO GO AHEAD AND MOVE IT. Oh, what's that? You only move negative posts? Oh okay.
-
Easily Bungie’s strongest offering in years. I don’t think I’ve commented on a video games music since Halo CE, but that changed as I worked through the campaign of D2. I consider it too notch.
-
It’s pretty good but it’s no big three
-
1 Replyd1 was better, like everything else
-
3 Replies1. Destiny 1 2. Rise of Iron 3. The Taken King 4. Destiny 2 All had amazing soundtracks but D1 is my favorite in my opinion.
-
9 RepliesHonestly, this soundtrack rivals Halo's tbh.
-
Agreed
-
1 ReplySome. But the tower music was def better in D1.
-
D1 has better music, but D2’s is decent. It fits nicely in my video game playlists on my phone Mass effect series Halo series Destiny series Unreal tournament series All good soundtracks
-
It's fuçking horrendous. It's out of sync with the game so often. It's loud and "exciting" when there's nothing going on, etc. D1's was better, and i still muted that as soon as bungo gave us the option.
-
Not that good at all, I mute the music.
-
You high? Battlefield 1 has better music.
-
Actually thought the soundtrack was pretty lame, lots of John Williams rip offs recorded badly by cheap Eastern European orchestras. Found the D1 soundtrack to be far more diverse and interesting.
-
Yeah... Martin O’Donnell did an awesome job on this one!
-
Then fired the composer!
-
While it is epic and triumphant it lacks the mystique and darkness that Destiny 1s soundtrack had which I sorely miss
-
Do like the soundtrack. But I do prefer d1 soundtrack.
