You can't tell why a connection at the other end stopped talking, only that it did. Also these repercussions will only take affect for habitual quitters. Getting DCed from one game won't delete your account and shave your dog.
-
im the end you will have cheaters vs cheaters while everybody else has penalty.
-
Bungie is improving their security so until the update drops we won’t know if cheating will even be possible anymore with the new security
-
Huh... That's one hell of a double edged sword.

Edited by AmidVillains: 3/26/2018 1:48:05 AMDestiny 2 knows no boundaries when it comes to player satisfaction.
Lol

Nah, I'm just kidding.

They'll keep adding and adjusting crap like this until nobody plays their games anymore.
This is Bungie. Of course it will apply to people who are victims of network tampering.
-
Hey I was wrong. Cozmo just announced that the penalty is going to be applied to trials as well. It will happy to habitual quitters.
-
yes it will. Bungie's solutions NEVER consider all possibilities. Rather than fix matchmaking or their crappy P2P design they will just force you to stay. This along with radar removal is the death of what little competitive remains. $IP
-
*cough* how to increase #s in Competitive *cough*
-
How To Go Flawless Step 1. Google how-to Do Step 2. Eject all the good players with a 30min ban till you win. Step 3. Toss your new giant cack over your shoulder so you don't step on it while doing the happy dance.
-
DDOS really only happens in trials and this penalty doesn’t affect trials. There’s also the added thing were everyone figures getting booted to orbit or receiving an error code means you got DDOS’d. I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, just when it does you’re not going to have an internet connection for a bit.
-
BUNGIE CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A DDOS OR SOMEONE QUITTING And they never will, this is why multiple good players have gotten crucible restrictions when the enemy teams keep quitting and bungo's like ohh they must be cheating and BAM HOT CRUCIBLE RESTRICTION Anyone who doubts me try to get three teams quitting back to back in trials and go flawless and collect the loot, I guarantee that next day there will be a nice little two week restriction waiting for you!
-
I can't wait for another outbreak of connection issues like we've seen in the past when this gets implemented. It'll be fun reading all the rage posts on here. I'm gonna go buy popcorn now just to be ready for the inevitable.
-
Yes. It specifically said leaving for any reason. They also said habitual quitters so, how many times do you have to leave to bring the penalty? They didn't say.
-
Overwatch does not do that crap when you quit a simple game?
-
Unfortunately, it most likely will. Disconnecting from a match in any way usually triggers those countermeasures. It’s garbage
-
The quitter penalty is stupid. Not sure why they are going to punish the 5 people that still play this game.
-
It is bungie. Even if you would die in real life they would do it.
-
They honestly didn't even say it was guaranteed to be every time did they? You notice it said something about habitual quitters. I think everyone will have to wait and see how it works. That assumes there are still players in the crucible play list long enough to know.
-
What will happen is, someone will ping flood your connection and bungie will punish you for it with a ban. I mean they have to screw it up somehow right?
-
they said check your connection so i would say yes. and this game is on a death march. no radar ,quitter penalties, crappy dlc. hope i am wrong.
-
That would be hilarious you get ddossed and then can't play for an additional time.
-
According to today's TWAB. YES, but no one is ddosing in the competitive playlist. and the quitter penalties don't apply to Trials only to The competitive playlist
