What weapon system do you like?
Just curious to see what people think. For me personally it’s Destiny 1’s

Destiny 1 system was fine I have no idea why they removed it

D1 and that is part of the reason I play D1 instead of D2. Like asking to buff primaries meant everyone wanted 2 weak primaries slots lol.

Destiny 1 Far Cry/GTA/whatever Destiny 2 Group A can go play D1, Group B can go find a game that suits their style, and the people in Group C who actually LIKE D2 don't get our game ruined by people who are going to be mad no matter what happens anyway. This is really simple, folks - if you buy a game, and you don't like it, find a game you DO like. D1 wasn't Halo, and nobody "demanded" we go back to a 2-weapon Primary system...because it was a different game. And now D2 is a different game. It's not D1, it's not WoW, it's not Fallout, it's D2. And if you'd prefer different weapon options, there are tons of games on the market that'll scratch that itch. But D2 ain't one of them. It's D2. Take it or leave it.

Surely any system that gives you the best aspects of both D1 and D2 without the limitations of either would be the best option. I can understand wanting the D1 system back. But why would you [i]not[/i] want the option to use two primaries as well? Surely variety and options is a good thing (4 slot).

Edited by JensBoef: 3/16/2018 10:36:27 AM4 slot is probably the best system to satisfy both PvE and PvP. The two primaries is good for PvP so you have a weapon for different ranges. But jamming special and heavy ammo in one power slot was a horrible choice. They should be seperated back into special and power ammo like it was in D1. That's better for both PvE and PvP. And machine guns should be brought back. :) I think the majority of people choose D1 system because of nostalgia. If D1 had 4 weapon slot and in D2 it was transferred to the D1 system as we know it, people wanted to go back to the 4 weapon slot. Yes, I know the truth is harsh.

3 RepliesDestiny 1. I’m so mad that people whined and whined about specials so much they just threw them all into power ammo. The only weapon I ever thought needed it’s nerf was the OG Vex Mythoclast, and I didn’t even voice that opinion on here. Remember when someone was having a cry about whatever last killed them in PvP and people would ask if they would prefer all weapons be the same and not have anything stand out or be interesting? Bungie actually took that suggestion to heart, the absolute madmen.

Destiny 1 loadout was perfect and the new feature should have been having the option of putting a primary weapon the special weapon slot and vice a versa same thing for the special weapon slot and heavy slot and vice a versa thus the two sniper and hand cannon loadout there are endless combinations it would have been interesting gameplay as they say if it ain't broke don't fix it just add too it just an idea to me snipers and fusion rifles are special weapons not heavy weapons

I'm fine with both D1 and D2's systems. The problem is that the weapons in D2 are just so boring and terrible compared to D1.

Destiny 1's system, with the elemental primaries that AoT brought, but without the 2-14-17 Abomination that ruined D1's PvP. Flexible, devastating, and fun.

Also, another point (this doesn't need attention on PC): how are we supposed to switch to a theoretical 4th slot on Console? It would either have to be a longer hold of the Weapon Swap button, or a button combo. I am just curious to see what people think of how to swap to this 4th weapon.

However, with the 4 slot I'd also recommend you allow the player to leave a primary slot empty as a choice if they wanted to (that way you have 3 guns OR 4 guns, if you find the switching with 4 guns too clunky). Heck, actually, just make all the slots have that ability to 'not' have a gun. It would make for interesting challenges. But if I had a choose a something that would magically happen this instant, I would just go back to D1. It worked well. It always will work well. No need to change it up.
