If Skyburners Oath Had a Quest
Hey everyone! I've been thinking lately about how awesome it would be for more exotics to have quests tied to them. So I took a whack at writing what a quest for the Skyburners Oath might be like! Let me know what you think, as I might do more of these in the future.

I know, I agree. Please of you're going to comment, comment on what you think of my quest! I want your feedback. If any of my quest steps seem like too much or too little, etc. That kinda stuff! (Plus, we know Bungie is doing a comprehensive re-tune of most exotics, I imagine skyburners will be pretty sweet one day! Also, skyburners is getting a buff in 1.1.4 because slow firing scouts are getiing a base damage buff.)

That's honestly not a lot. Every strike has 15+ of them. Not to mention patrol/public events, meditations... You could easily kill 100 or more in an hour or two. The idea is for it to be one of those hidden quests that people get randomly and aren't really sure where it came from.

Looking back, I agree. This was just my first attempt at something fun/creative related to destiny 2. For any future fan made quests I will certainly think of some more creative quest steps.

5 RepliesI cant view the link, but whats sad is, how people have to come up with better ideas, than the actual dev teams and creative teams. i mean, you get paid to do a job, and yet still there are people on here, by just using a smidge of creativity, can fart out better content or creative direction. if i had my way, you would have gotten 2 types of exotics (the Evolved Exotic, and the Eccentric Exotic) Evolved exotics - these are Legendary Armor Sets, that can turn into Exotics, ONLY if your wearing a complete armor set that is masterworked., Normal Legendary can turn into Masterworks by either taken X amount of Damage over a duration of time, or by applying the Standard Masterwork Core Mechanic. Evolved exotics evolve the Piece to the highest light level, and, buffs the exotic evolution rate the more Exotics you have. - Evolved Exotics get an Extra Mod Slot for Damage Reduction against a Certain Elemental type and get an additional perk that can be selected (either / or ) scenario - example (Higher jump / faster Sprint), Same applies for all Weapons. a complete Exotic Set and Weapons Stack Damage and Reduce Damage type when equipped (Base color is Orange - Tangerine or some shit) Eccentric Exotics, are Completely unique and are quest Driven, also more powerful and have completely different perks than the normal evolved exotics. - these have long quest lines, that are driven by a strong Lore component, the more you learn about the gun the easier the missions get, as the mission lore is given to you bit by bit with clues in it, to aid you in completing quests that follow. i don't know man, you can go very deep with all of this. and to me? i think, this game should have spent another year in dev and we would have had the crème on the cats ba''s when they were done. not the dingleberry in the litterbox.

1 ReplyI believe that would be a fair quest in order to receive an exotic weapon. I like your writing style. Bungie could use more writers like you that's for sure. The only part I've had a problem with since Bungie released Destiny is having to mix PvE with PvP. If you take out the crucible requirement and add another PvE your quest would be perfect for me. I know others like going into the crucible but I'd be less inclined. I'd still do it but it'd be annoying. Great job, great post. The negative posts make my eyes burn (sadly I write some of them myself).

1 ReplyI really like it and I really like quest lines for exotics. Although it wouldn’t work IMO for a weapon that is already out, I wonder if you could have a ‘Shadow’ variant with a different look and perks....? Good job on the quest line.

Ah, I loved exotic quests in D1. I spent ages grinding bounties until I finally got the Super Good Advice quest. That weapon was a saviour in my VoG runs. I'm still mad it doesn't talk to us like it's suppose to though :| And the exotic quest for First Curse? Man, calling that quest difficult is an understatement but I grinded it out until I finally got that weapon too, and that was before Bungie recognised the difficulty of the quest and made it easier to complete. My point is I'd spend hours upon hours getting those quests and then completing them for a unique exotic you can't get anywhere else. I love exotic quests and I think there should be more of them but, for the love of god, make the weapon decently powerful or interesting to use, Bungie.

I am 1 for exotic quests... As long as these exotic quest have multiple paths toward them So you can either take the PvE route to earn your quest item or do a PvP route. Cause to be fair not everyone likes PvE or PvP. So you can cater to both sides Exotics would have to feel worth getting like the Sleeper & Black Spindle were or they can just feel like a waste of time like the NTTE was(my opinion) Put raid exotics back in the game. It’s all fine & well Xur selling them but where is the accomplishment from earning them. We have raid exotic weapons but what about exotic armour. Not sure what bonuses you could have but something that would be worth chasing Also stop NERFING all exotics in to the ground. Let them feel exotic & strong since we earned them in quests

Great idea. Search through Cabal toilets and dump sites for components. Take the components to gunsmith who then berates you and charged 20k glimmer for wasting his time assembling them. Penalty on gunsmith mats for 6hrs

29 RepliesThat’s the same sort of crap that screwed up the taken king dlc. what we need is less quest in game and exotics should not be on quest for a start as they items supplied by the nine not for some elitist moron to hide behind another level of bull shit. Exotics should be only attainable through Xur so in that way everyone is on a equal footing. What we do needed is more variety in the archetypes of gear not less
