With those sources I'd recommend further educating yourself with numerous sources from very viewpoints of varying degrees. Because what you consider common sense to possibly mean; the military needs funding to protect us, another equally valid definition of common sense would be; we should devoted more resources from the military to space programs involved in the mining of asteroids for resources which we are running out of.
