Are there any notable human pistols other than the mangums?

In terms of the UNSC, the M6 PDWS is the clear leader of sidearm choice. The weapon has been in production for over 150 years, and has numerous variants. Before that, roughly 200 years ago, the M4 PDWS was the leading sidearm. The colony of Gao is known to use the SAS-10, however, it's largely ineffective for modern combat requirements.

I’m guessing the SAS-10 is meant to be more of a concealed carry?

From what I remember in the books it looks kind of long and bulky.

Any mention of whether it was semi-auto or not?

Edited by Filthy Casual: 12/31/2017 10:08:56 PMI don't think it was mentioned, but I got the impression that it was semi-auto.

Edited by Delta E27: 12/31/2017 6:48:30 PMOf similar note, from Halo: Retribution (the newer novel detailing the exploits of Lopis), there's the SAD-8 (Sevine Arms Defender) and SAMP-10 (Sevine Arms Machine Pistol). The defender is an 8mm, high recoil, fairly sidearm, and the machine pistol is a machine pistol. There's also the New Tyne Armory 12mm Comet, also in Retribution. It's called (mockingly) a hand cannon because it's oversized and bulky

I actually don’t know. It was the weapon of choice for the Gao Ministry of Protection special investigator Veta Lopis.
