Just remove Eververse, no tweaks, no free loot boxes. Only removal.

There was a response to all this criticism about the Eververse tucked away on the Game Directors twitter, rather than anywhere more noticeable. Here it is and what it says:
And finally, I know we say it a lot, but we hear your feedback on Eververse. We both want our players to feel respected, and to deliver great content regularly to our community. Expect lots of discussion with the dev team and an update on our path forward after the new year.
I see Bungie tweaking Eververse so it's less of a focus but still there to keep making the money. I can guarantee you that they would slowly keep updating Eververse until it goes back to being the main focus of Destiny 2 or 3. If Bungie removed Eververse it would be huge, not just for the franchise but for other games as well. It would show that Publishers and Game Developers can't get away with bad, lazy game design just because it makes a huge amount of money. Bungie have Activision, a multi-billion dollar company that could easily step in to cover costs. Bungie wouldn't go belly up, Activision wouldn't allow that. If Eververse is removed content from updates and DLC would have to be unlocked through playing the game itself, imagine if they did it like Halo 3 where if you did a specific task you would unlock that specific piece of gear. Have pride in what you wear because of how difficult it was to achieve, not because you got lucky. Accept nothing other than total removal of loot boxes and micro-transactions.
So long as spending money isnt necessary to advance in the game, microtransactions arent a problem. Also, you cant blame a company, who has shareholders and partners, for making money.
I can guarantee you that they would slowly keep updating Eververse until it goes back to being the main focus of Destiny 2 or 3.
How are cosmetic items the focus of a shooter game? Name one shooter whose selling point is being able to purchase cool ingame accessories. There hasnt been one, and destiny never has been and never will become one. If you want to show the industry that they can't get away with shit tier games, abandon the game or just dont buy it. Getting rid of cosmetic microtransactions in one game will do nothing to the industry.
Bungie have Activision, a multi-billion dollar company that could easily step in to cover costs. Bungie wouldn't go belly up, Activision wouldn't allow that.
Explain to me one real world situation where a company slowrd production on the premise that their investment firm would pump money into them and keep them afloat. This has never been pulled off, and never will (unless in some tax evasion tactic). Companies dont reach into their own pockets to cover costs. If you remove a non core-game related cosmetic revenue maker, bungo will have to recover losses and with non core-game prospects ruled out, you'll cop microtransactions which do affect gameplay and end up pay to win.
If Eververse is removed content from updates and DLC would have to be unlocked through playing the game itself,
*Cosmetic content. Its already gained through playing the game. Microtransactions are just a shortcut. These items were meant to be a token of grind, not progress. There are other items that are tokens of progress such as prophecy weapons, quest items etc.
imagine if they did it like Halo 3 where if you did a specific task you would unlock that specific piece of gear.
They do. Thats what quests are for.
Have pride in what you wear because of how difficult it was to achieve, not because you got lucky.
This is a grind based game. A combination of progress and luck should be in place, which it is. Progress more or less defines the gameplay ( ie you do progress activities like raids to be powerful) whereas luck in the form of bright engrams defines how you look ingame (ie you get lucky to look good, nothing more). Due to this, high end progress gear actually holds more achievement to the wearer. You respect someone more who is wearing a full raid set with raid shaders and raid emblem rather than someone wearing a full set of that eververse stuff...because they played hard to get stuff that not everyone can get. Be thankful that the luck portion of the grind doesnt have a grip on how powerful you are.
Accept nothing other than total removal of loot boxes and micro-transactions.
Good luck. That is both not feasible and would ultimately end up with the game shittier than before.
