so instead of in game lore we get comic books. nice.

a comic book titled “origin story” about ikora and osiris? seriously? so people (not me) spent $20 on a dlc that they hoped would shed light on the story behind osiris only to get very minimal information on this so called legendary warlock and then a conclusion that consists of no relevant dialogue and then him running off, and now we get the real story behind osiris in a comic book??? short stories and comic books and novels worked in something like halo because the game already had lore that made sense within it and the novels and such only added to the large universe. but in destiny 2 the game has minimal lore and backstory as is, and then a dlc is introduced that is expected to tell an untold story, and then it doesn’t, and the real story behind the dlc is in a comic book. i don’t usually care about lore. i don’t need to go super in depth. i just want to have some information on what i’m doing and who i’m interacting with. osiris is allegedly the most legendary warlock but why? what makes him so legendary? what is the story here? does anyone agree or am i crazy to think that i should be able to buy a game and know about the purpose behind what i’m doing? edit: here is a reply i just made and i think i should paste it here because i think a lot of people are missing the point:

His point has limited validity and he should be painfully aware of that, Bungie is creator of Halo; a franchise that had 70%+ of its lore and backstory out of game.
you aren’t wrong in that regard but it doesn’t all need to be in the game. enough should be in the game to give me reason to feel somewhat connected to the characters i am fighting with and against; a reason to want to fight the various enemy races and most of all a reason to want to help the vanguard and the city and the traveler. in halo 2 it was mostly just shooting bad guys until you watch tartarus betray the arbiter in cold blood and then you want to fight the brutes. they are no longer just bad because the game makes your reticle red when you aim at them but they are bad because you watch them do things like let the arbiter clear through tons of flood to get to the icon and prove himself to the prophets only for them to step in, take the icon, and as far as they are concerned, kill the arbiter. you then realize they are actually bad guys and you feel like you have reason to fight them. there is never once anything like this in destiny 1 or 2. it doesn’t need to be some sort of big betrayal like it was in halo 2 but it should be something to give us reason to fight the darkness other than it just being dark. if you want more reason and more backstory then yes by all means there should be stuff outside of the game for all the loreheads to research like there was in halo. but that 30% of lore that you say that was in the game was enough to give me reason to want to help humanity and destroy the covenant and the flood and that is enough for me.
