I posted this on Reddit and figured I give it a shot here. I really hope devs read this. A lot of people are gonna downvote it so sorry.

Before I gripe, I wanna say I was so supportive of Bungie despite knowing that even before D1 took off I knew I wasn’t supporting the group that gave me so much fun and expanded literature in the Halo series. I pre ordered both launches of Destiny 1/2. Something I am usually very much against. I played D1 for a total time of what makes 4 weeks, I loved it, I could not get enough of it. It was digital heroine, my gambling instincts due to the RNG was always fired up and I couldn’t stop playing despite the fact I was doing the same thing over and over and over again. I thought the first raid was incredible and I still think it was great. VOG is still my most favorite PVE activity I’ve EVER done. I loooove the aesthetics of the games. The guns and most of the armor are really cool and have given life to amazing fan art. I made so many friends including two “older” dudes in their 40’s from the UK that I got to talk to about working at Atari and swapping stories. I met so many people and had such a good time playing with those people that I really wished I lived near a lot of them. I don’t have a lot of friends and that made me feel a lot better. Fast forward to pretty much every DLC and while most of the quality of life features improved over time thanks to this new and rising community I got to be apart of I started drifting away, content really wasn’t keeping me, again I really felt addicted so it was for the best. I finally got to the point to where I didn’t pick it up anymore and couldn’t understand how I ever got that involved with doing so little. I could’ve done so much stuff in that amount of time I spent playing this game. However I had fun, least I think, addictions are bad mmmkay. I was stoked and hesitant about 2. I played it, I gave it a solid month and I can honestly say I don’t think this is the company to handle a series like this. I don’t think it’s fun, I don’t think they really listens to what feedback they got over the last three years and the corporate greed is at an all time high. You can’t have an “MMO light” without having things that bring us back and I think this game looks way better than ANY MMO you’re gonna find for sure, but the way companies like Blizzard do it is the only sure fire way to have that kinda fan base and it go over all. I think it was fate or people finally saying enough is enough that the EA controversies happened so close to Bungie/Activsion not being transparent about experience gains when telling us to go firing up those public events, structuring a lot of the new game around those(which were done better this game). Then the same thing happened with the first dlc as the first game. It felt very lack luster, it didn’t feel as fun and the content was maybe 3 hours worth. The only difference this time was that we got the same raid slightly changed up and people who love the game got kicked out of launch content because of how they wanted that dlc sold which can only be acquired in a expansion pass. That’s not ok, it’s not a way to keep people playing, with a packed year, the holidays and (most)people aren’t made of cash, that is taking advantage of your consumers. The last straw honestly was thinking about this past weekend. I played so, so much D1 on ps4 but I never ever got any of the exclusive stuff from vanilla. Even after nerfs it took it coming over to Xbox finally (who still gets super screwed in this game due to exclusiveness) to get it form Xur. This past weekend they sold the Promethean Lens, super OP because they didn’t play test it, yet launched this weak DLC full of re skins, stuff from D1?! (Why’d you delete our vaults then?) and the new cool looking stuff was only obtainable from bright engrams which looks a lot like”hey spend money” if no one had caught on to the slow exp stuff, then it’s very likely their plan was hoping the slow progression would make people spend more real money to get the new stuff locked behind the bright engrams. Getting side tracked there in a tangent, going back to the OP laser gun.. we were told all of D1 they can’t control what is sold from Xur due to an algorithm and here they sold that gun so people could play around then they’d nerf it. For someone like me to hear that after how much real time I spent in their world was super upsetting. I DON’T TRUST THEM ANYMORE. I’m done, they’re not doing this well, it’s not really getting better and I don’t know what else to say, but I’m disappointed in them and myself for the most of the time lost, again I did have a lot of fun with friends in D1. If you continue to support them make sure your voice is heard, as far as I go, I’m done and hope eventually they get it right and don’t just have their studio destroyed by the suit/ties, as the legacy of “Bungie” doesn’t really mean what it did when I was a kid. TLDR: playing since D1 alpha, disappointed in how the game as evolved, sad at the non transparency and corporate greed. I’m done playing

And the Lord did grin and the people did feast upon the lambs and sloths and carp and anchovies and orangutans and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats and large chu... Err... Ahem... And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou counteth to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naught in my sight, shall snuff it." Amen.

        • I think I’ve realized one of the main reasons I played Destiny 1 for so long but am already fed up with Destiny 2. The shooter element is really fun and even when I was just grinding I still enjoyed it. I also seemed to have trouble moving on to a new game. Once I stopped playing Destiny 1 and started playing other games I felt so relieved that I wasn’t hooked anymore. When I came back to Destiny 2 the game was different but still fun. But I had already been playing Destiny for 3 years and I got tired of it fast. I was less willing to put up with the things Bungie was doing to the game and I had a lot of other games I could play as soon as I got bored. I played CoO and got really frustrated with how small the $20 expansion was. After I ran all 3 characters through the campaign I stopped playing. So I think it was just a lot easier to walk away from it this time since I hadn’t been playing for months on end.

        • https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Lz1zzo8dis&t=1s Watch....and consider. Consider the impact of the expectations you may have brought to this game, and the impact its having on your ability to accept the game for what it is....and enjoy it. The "legacy" of Bungie is that they made a really good campaign shooter that lots of people liked, and that some people (like me) found pretty boring. Imo, one of the biggest problems that Bungie faces trying to make this game is the fact that so many of a generation of gamers have raised Halo to such a mythic status. Which prevents this game from getting out from under Halo 's shadow, and Halo-induced expectations in order to become ITS OWN game. It can't be its own game as long as its dragging around the legacy of a game that----the only thing it has in common with---IS Bungie.

                • I wanted to add something I didn’t even realize that’s aggravating. I was never for the rehaul of our loot. I’ve always thought it sucked and was lazy. I mentioned why did they delete our stuff just to bring back some D1 exotics? Well they’ve always done it. We paid for the exotics, a new dlc drops and they get rid of them and then we have to play and or buy the new dlc to try to get the thing we already had and paid for. That is so stupid but makes me feel every more stupid.

Prepare to have them get super salty and upset if you try explaining there must be some merit in what u say, as Bungie are rushing around doing U turns to try and fix this heap of turd to make it try and resemble what we loved in D1. When you say u hate D2 or some things are a joke, some of (im assuming) younger fans just flip out. They dont realise we are the only chance they have of refining the game to something similar to D1, and they refuse to accept Bungie are admitting they screwed it up on an almost weekly basis. Least you see the bigger picture, that few fans on here do, and understand the makers of the classic Halo games ISNT what you see now at Bungie. They left many any moons ago, but you only need to play D1 or D2 to see that. The best Halo games were so polished it was unreal, something Destiny has never been, even when D1 was super fun. Im a D1 fan so ill prob just wait 6 months or so, wait for Bungie to get pounded with feedback until they make a game most its original fans want. Your get it so dirt cheap itll be unreal, and there will be loads of content orth doing, and I wont be funding or supporting them releasing more shit content with 0 value.

                      • Ok didnt really have time to read your whole post but get your point. D1 definitely had more fluidity to it. D2 is more glitchy. But as whole. Its a game. Will always be a game. And never to be taken any more seriously that what it is. A game. Kill many and Die often!

I have a post of my own how they're whitewashing the game just to make PVP Fair. They're making the game way to tame and careful because of people griping and complaining about balance just for pvps sake. I think this is at the core of the problem because over the top weapons we're fun as hell and the armor and weapon perk advantages actually meant something in Destiny 1. I think the Developers are raining things in just to make those people in PvP happy. It's like in the NFL not being able to have a party dance in the endzone a constant crying is ruining the game just for the biggest complainers actually a small minority compared to the silent majority. I get all that corporate stuff you said but I always just keep in mind that it's a business and businesses exist to make money, I think you forget that in Destiny 1 there are a lot of things that deej said that ended up not being true, so the rose colored glasses that you were looking through must have painted a different picture then what was really going on. It's always been like that and it really hasn't changed.

                          • The devs won't read your post and, even if they would, they won't care. It seems Bungie wishes to do away with the concept presented in 2013 so they don't have to break away from the mainstream FPS mold (PvP, PvP, and more PvP). Destiny was supposed to lead the charge to refresh the stagnate FPS genre not continue to perpetuate the stagnation.

                          • 100% Agree with you man! Been playing since D1 Beta and what we have today is a sad sight! So many missed opportunities for easy wins (REALLY EASY)... I mean all the foundations were there from Y3, I cannot honestly fathom why they would completely disregard everything that worked so well and people liked and instead start from scratch and pretty much mess everything up! It is fubar imo! Played D1 for 3 years solid and loved it, played D2 for a month and its like a completely different game, so generic and stale, such a shame!

                          • Un fortunately this is true. Corporate greed will ruling everything. The pvp balance is great now. When you all have equal tools to use it leaves only skill to determine the winner or loser. It wasn't till year 2 that I gat a galahorn. So luck gave others an advantage. Not so much anymore. The game is very bland though. No need farming except once a week on the update. All loot outside of milestones comes in to low to progress anything. And milestones can be completed in a single day. So we take as much money as we can and give you in exchange 1 day a week worth of gaming. I don't see where this game is worth it anymore. Where is the daily reward. Where do I get something from the daily grind. I don't and neither does anyone else. I see the forums flood with legitimate complaints for years from both games. Yet only a minute amount of fixes. And years of give you this in dlc like reforge then take it away next dlc. I could go on but it's futile. It's clear no one is listening.
