Welcome to Shaxx's Approved Weapons - Idea, bump if you agree.

TL;DR To impliment a "PvP inventory page" which is another menu on the inventory screen and items equipped in there are automatically equipped when entering the Crucible. This is so they have control over balance, bugs and adds another "thing to do/incentive to play" with fresh loot on a semi-regular basis. . Hello, today I present to you an idea. An idea that I believe can save Destiny and fully utilize something the fanbase has wanted since D1. As we know, Bungie has been aiming PvP towards a slower and more team based play style. Some of us like that, some of us hate that. That's cool, you're entitled to your opinion, so lets not argue over that. In the end, with this strategy in mind Bungie has disregarded the fact that the fun aspects of PvE and "feeling like a guardian" get hindered by PvP balance. Now I know that we have wanted Bungie to seperate PvP and PvE for a long time, and many threads have been made about it. Shaxx's Approved Weapons is the solution to this. I do not believe it would be too hard to implement, especially for a AAA company. . Welcome to Shaxx's Approved Weapons. After a few too many burns from the laser light show that is Crucible, Shaxx has decided he wants guardians to show honor and respect among another as we compete for glory. As such, he has made a list of approved weapons. This list includes: - two (one energy/kinetic) "basic" weapon of each archetype gifted to each guardian. These can not be lost/deleted and will automatically be used if no other Shaxx-approved weapon is equipped. - Every month (or 2) another 2 (or 4) different weapons in each archetype are released. - A new selection of 6 weapons (3 energy/kinetic) in each archetype upon implementation of this system, for the below - Each week Shaxx will sell 2 (one energy/kinetic) weapons on his list from each archetype, that you can buy with proof of your glory (Crucible Tokens), this will reset inline with Xur. These weapons will be available for use in PvE (and maybe re-craftable from the collection), they will be marked similarly like CoO items are to distinguish them from PvE items. They will act as a regular item alongside the new PvP inventory UI. A new inventory UI screen that allows you to select your armor/exotic armor, and your preferred load out of Shaxx's approved weapons, still following the current kinetic/energy/power system. . What will this change cause? Well for one, it will let Bungie do what they think is right for the "balance" of PvP, which in my opinion is far better than giving everyone a brand new DLC exotic within the same week of release simply to put people on the same level due to it being bugged. Sorry... That just grinds my gears... Back to the point, these changes will finally separate PvP and PvE to the point that anything "fun" in PvE due to the silliness of the design or raw potential isn't ruined on the reason of PvP, but rather for the balance of PvE if need be. This will allow Bungie to fine tune weapons, exclude bugged weapons from entering the crucible and IF they still manage to cock-it up, they can temporarily remove it from Shaxxs' list. This will also allow bungie to create more exciting PvE weapons, and as a result different ways for interaction with boss's that are being designed by Bungie right now. This will put more incentive on Bungies ideal of team play PvP rather than simply "I have last hope and you don't", or what ever the three top guns are at the time. . This is an idea that will not take too much from you to consider and refine Bungie, this could bring some of your lost guardians back from the dead. Take this idea free of charge and please separate PvP / PvE as they both drag each other down currently and both have a lot of potential to be a lot more.

  • I'm going to bump this, but it's nothing new. Ever since it was clear that Trials was driving the sandbox in Y2, people have been proposing ideas to give PVP a separate loot pool than PVE and have it be vendor driven so people are on the same playing field. Its literally an idea that is 2 years old at this point. Bungie just does not want to separate the two modes. So something has to give. Either PVP has to be allowed to play fast and chaotic like it did in Y1, or PVE is just going to have to be a boring, pointless, much less-replayable glorified shooter campaign - because allowing PVP to dictate core game mechanics effectively MAKES the game into nothing more than a traditional shooter game.

    • The farm should have a PvP testing area against sweeper bots I.e. test range

Hell. No. What I'm reading is that PvE gets to use whatever they want while PvP is forced into restricted loadouts. Nah, bruh. That ain't gonna fly.

I appreciate a well constructed piece of feedback. Presented respectfully in a helpful manner. A lot of posters in this forum should take note. That being said, although there's merit to your idea, I don't want to see anymore restrictions put in place. I already feel like I'm playing against the same 4 weapons in crucible and it gets stale fast. Forcing everyone to play with a limited pool of weapons further nerfs our guardians. D2 made our abilities and supers tick over much slower to put an emphasis on gunplay. By preposing that set of weapons be limited you're essentially going to strip anything unique left of the Destiny PvP experience away. I hear the PvE focused community getting frustrated at their power fantasies being taken away but as someone who enjoys both elements of Destiny equally I am actually on Bungie's side when it come to the decision to keep the both balanced together as I don't want to feel like my guardian is a completely different character that doesn't feel the same in both game modes. My counter proposal would be a return of weekly playlists. Possibly one where your weapon set is determined for you and changes each week. I think that would be a fun, optional solution so long as the existing playlists still exist.

          • Separating PvE and PvP would definitely fix a lot of problems... but like everyone else I'm thinking they'll still find a way to jack up everything.

          • I think that shaxx should set up a massive crucible social space in the farm. It could have a massive amount of potential.

Bump. Separate PvP and PvE. You could just have each weapon has a standard perk setup that bungie controls and once you obtain a weapon it is added to your PvP loadout list. After that weapon is unlocked then any drops after that can be randomized perks but your weapons in your vault are only for pve. You have to use the PvP loadout collection for PvP.

            • There needs to be a restrictive exotics system- NO EXOTICS ALLOWED IN PvP (Except for Iron Banner and Trials of The Nine. Those are acceptable)

            • Bump! Bungie and specifically Deej please is it possible to pass this idea down to the development team as it sounds very innovative for pvp? This will seperate pvp from pve for once and for all. If not please at least consider it for use even once as a special week just to bring a little variety and break the monotony Thank you
