Destiny 2 Suggestion - Text Chat / Quick Chat

Yes, I would love this feature!

No thanks, I prefer less choices.

We all experience days of not being as "social" as usual, but when you have no choice, it really sucks.. It's like that game you never play, until you can't play it and then you really wanna play it.. You know? So, since voice chat would obviously be an awful experience in "Social Spaces", we could opt for something other... Text chat? Right? Ah, I hear you Guardians, we would receive countless spam and annoying posts about Twitch users and some promise of in-game items from a phishing website.. We have seen it over a hundred times on so many MMO games already. However, text chat is an industry standard practice for MMO games, it seems "wrong" that Bungie ignore this and make us find groups using alternative sources, taking us out of the gameplay experience. So, we could always request they meet us halfway, without compromising their "safe and clean" zones. Thus, a feature request (implemented in other MMO games too, but easily forgotten about): Quick Chat. Quick Chat, requires the user to choose a menu, and navigate different social phrases they wish to share with other players. Here is a quick example of what I mean: Greetings Menu: 1. Hey! 2. Hello. 3. Yo!! 4. Hiya Replies: 1. Yes please. 2. No thanks. 3. How about something else? 4. In a few minutes, I'm just busy with something. Grouping Menu: 1. Would you like to do the Raid? 2. Would you like to do the Vanguard Strikes playlist? 3. Would you like to compete in the Crucible? Show-off Menu: 1. I have defeated x Fallen! 2. I have defeated x Vex! 3. I have defeated x Cabal! 4. I have defeated x Taken! 5. I have defeated x Guardians! 6. I have completed the raid x amount of times! 7. I have been a loyal customer to Bungie for x years! Obviously, more options etc. TL/DR: Feature request: Quick Chat. Quick Chat = Library of preset, non-customisable phrases, navigated and selected via numerical prompts. Ash

While any compromise would be better than the lonely ghost town it is now, I still think an opt-in chat is fine.. Why not just have it off by default? If people are going to be rude or mean through text, they will do so by voice, which is currently an option that can be toggled on (no one uses it though). EDIT: Also, with one of the devs backing up this system with "the worst that happened to me was some player following me around the Tower for 10 mins" or something like that I bet they would just dismiss your Quick Chat suggestion because God forbid somebody walk up to your player character and start spamming "Yo!" over and over which apparently gives the developers nightmares irl to even imagine.
