The crucible is literally a game of peek-a-boo
Seriously this is such garbage. No one wants to engage in 1v1. They peek out, take a few shots, and dip away. Who thought this is even fun?
Even on a PC the crucible has turned to trash. Iron Banner is a complete joke of stacked teams going against solo.

3 RepliesI didnt play Destiny 1 pvp for verry long... But i get the feeling it was much more "quake 3 like" than it is in Destiny 2... right? I have read some complains that really make me wonder... People who complain that they die to fast when 2 or 3 people sincronise their fire.. or like Special_K_Dude who complains that people dont want to 1 on 1 him... For me as a "tactical player" the destiny 2 pvp is really cool. You have rush tactics, spot calling and whatever. Good team coordination makes a huge difference.. Why should i 1 on 1 someone and take the risk to die, when my team is right behind me? The goal of each mode is to win as a team...

After a few hours of rinse and repeat, you get a few coins, and acquire the same socks, four times in a row and a pat on the back from a man who doesn't seem to know you, although you had a deep history of battling for the same cause not so long ago. There is no joy from the absurdity of it all, in the end I feel like poor Sisyphus over and over. So yeah, don't have any masochistic tendencies and would rather spend my chill time doing things that make me feel happy.

1 ReplyThe best players avoid 1 on 1s. Facts. I believe it was Ogre 2 or Roy who said this many years ago. And if you dont know who those people are than your opinion is irrelevant. Try getting better and putting together a good team. Serious case of git gud right here.

I probably played over 200 crucible matches to give it a fair shake and it was a slow painful shitfest the whole time. -blam!- this game and I will continue to toss fuel on the fire here every time I have 5 minutes to spare while taking a shit.

1 ReplyI totally disagree. I do not miss d1 pvp starting with the gleams of sniper rifle scopes staring down lanes... I am not a fan of the scout rifle in d2 either, but at least you have a much better chance of surviving. The issue is everyone that tries to babysit their k/d and sits back and plays the way that is complained about.

Never was a fan of death match pvp tbh unless it has crazy and interesting mechanics, which this game doesnt have. I feel like an idiot running around getting one shot by people with weapons great in pvp while i use my pve farming guns to scratch them up real good. Usually im just one shot by melee power weapons. Basically i hope they dont fix pvp, because thats coming at the expense of a barely serviceable, past a week of play, pve game. Without a good pve game here pvp is pointless, pvpers will just go play PUBG or other dedicated pvp games build around balance and pvp mechanics. PVP in a game like this is suppose to be a side dish to break up the farming....not the endgame...or the focus of developing the game...which it feels like they wanted the game to be primarily a pvp game....which is why everyones complaining. It reminds me of all the failed MMORPGs that existed between 2005-2010, a lot of them wrecked their core game to appeal to a never happy pvp crowd, then moba's happened and they all went there and the pve game was neglected so the dedicated fan base that made the IP's successful had left and the game died out.. Seen so many mmorpgs ruin their core game to make pvp a bit better. D2 feels like that...which is crazy i thought id never experience that feeling again since mmorpgs sort of fizzled out.

Basically. It's become so boring, and irritating. You have to wait for your team before you go anywhere near the enemy. And good luck if you end up with the team that almost never team-shoots with you, and always splits up in different directions. This whole forcing-players-to-work-together-as-a-team Crucible just doesn't work. It just makes solo-queuing a nightmare. Wish they would have just let the Kinetic and Energy weapons stay the same strength as the Primaries were in Destiny 1, so you could hold your own if you got stuck with useless teammates.

I never ran away in FPS games until destiny 2. With ttk so high you have to run away after every kill to get your health back before engaging another. Also you can tell when you are going to lose a fight and you are better off running away. This is not a way I enjoy playing.

man i swear today i 1v1d like 4 people out of 20 matches, the rest was either me getting melted by 3midas & 1 nameless midnight from a mile away or me running back to my team while being chased around the map by 4 other players trying to hunt my asss down. Seriously PVP is at its worst right now no doubt
