The problem with quickplay.

Why bother saying Quickplay is Low Intensity if you let full stacked teams go into Quickplay and dominate every game they are in? Some times I just want to chill and play some PvP, but your matchmaking make me debate if I should. I often get put on a team full and randoms and then face a full clan fire team with +2 k\ds. How is that balanced? How is it Low Intensity.

  • Teams should match with teams, solos should match with solos, I’m no game developer but seriously... How hard can it be?? They did it in Halo with Matchmaking Preferences and all that shit, what’s their excuse now??

      • After playing many matches last night and only getting more and more irritated after every match, I came up with some ways that would significantly improve the crucible for me, a solo warlock player. - If 2 or more enemy players are in close proximity and are shooting at you, damage taken needs to be reduced significantly. Team shooting TTK is just ridiculously fast right now. -Only one titan and one hunter should be allowed on a team. The other two would be warlocks. (Titans and hunters are stupidly OP in the crucible). -Titan fist of panic to be brought back to its D1 status. You only get one fist of panic smash. -Titan shield needs a far longer animation to activate. - Warlock rifts need to instantly boost health to 100% right after animation. - Warlock rifts should damage enemy players if they walk into them (like the titan shields do). - Hunter dodge ability needs a much longer cool down. Hunters can dodge far too often. - Warlocks void vortex nade (and the one from the super) need to be magnetized to pull in enemy players if they are close. -warlock nova bomb should have the lance feature from d1 so it can be shot straight and fast. Vs the pathetic limp nova bomb we have now that travels super slow and can barely be shot 15 feet away. No doubt I'll get tons of disagreements for these ideas, but let me tell you it is brutal playing crucible with a warlock. Especially a voidwalker.

        • Ive played plenty of teams solo and beat them. I love the challenge actually. The game is already majorly casual. So what you go against teams...just keep practicing. Once you get really good it really will not matter to you.

          • Anything more than a 2 man team should be banned from quickplay. Last night there were 2 premade teams of 2 and me and another random and the game put the 2 premades together.

              What ive done is just open up the directory and look at roster. You can see who is in the match and their grouping. You can even inspect them. If it’s a 4 man clan then I can elect to leave. Edit: To clarify, you can do this during matchmaking and leave BEFORE the match starts so someone else CAN be matched into your spot IF you elect to leave the game.

                  Further to this^ I just got ddos'ed twice in a row I quickplay!! Not even kidding! Started game and nuked two members of a stacked team trying to grab a while their othet guys ran for b. I then kill a third and get kicked. Bungies reunion kicks in and i get dropped back in but now we are 9 to 7 down. My score is reset but no biggie. So i regrab a and c and manage to get a super of to nuke 2 trying to flank. So we are now 15 to 11 up. What do you know i get kicked again. Ok this is being silly. Bungie drop me back to the same match lol 3 minutes remaining and now 27 to 19 down. I grab b and a and force a powerplay! Score jumps up to 27 vs 27 then 30 vs 29 in our favour then i hold a against 3 of them. Kill 2 and die but my team mate finished off no. 3 and what do you know! Kicked to title screen with a full loss of internet!! Edit: To clarify, the third kick that knocked me off the internet was my ISP protection system kicking in as it detected the packet spamming and started moving me to a new ip. address. This re-boots you. So it wasn't the packet spam that kicked me off the net it was the automatic ISP ddos protection system that they have in place.

                  • It’s low intensity for the stomp team. It’s warmup or wind down. A time to play and just run around and do silly things. It’s a place for solos to just try things. New weapons. Tactics. Ideas. Everyone has the same shot at loot. Play hard in trials or comp. If you go sweaty in quick play you’re doing something wrong. Win or lose it doesn’t matter.

                  • You are so correct! Full fireteams need to be banned from QP and put into Competitive where they belong. Also, imo, QP should be 6v6 while the other place remains 4v4 - then we'll see what's more popular...

                      just cause they're a 4 man FT, doesn't mean they're good. stay and fight , taka any losses like a man ... LEARN FROM THEM. EDIT: besides you're in a 98 member clan, finding your own FT should be simple for you .

                        • Try competitive the amazing players don’t go there. Because despite what they say they don’t want a challenge they want to pub stomp. Competitive is literally almost all randoms. At least in the games I have played.

                            • I get put against fire teams of 4 so often that’s it’s kinda funny. The only playlist I play is quick play and I’ve seen funny shit too. My team has 4 randoms. Opposite team has two pairs of two man fire teams. Why not split the two man fire teams up? Straight put them on the same team. My team has 4 randoms 😭

                              • there's sort of a way to avoid full teams when going in solo: watch the matchmaking wheel; if the counter jumps up by 4 then a full team got matched. You can then exit without penalty and re-queue.

                                  • My problem with Quickplay, and the crucible in general, is that I can play one day and have almost absolutely no problems at all; then the next day I drop in, and it's like someone cut halfway through my data cable. I enjoy it, and have fun, even when I'm losing to full teams sometimes, as long as everything is working correctly, and I'm able to still at least do decent for myself. But when I drop in, and it's just match after match of crappy hit registration; those freaky in-your-face sudden appearances (Whoa! How'd he just appear, right in front of me, shooting me?); and enemies bouncing around the screen, like a Taken Thrall on crack, when I'm trying to shoot them; or loading into a Control match, but I don't see any zones, and it won't let me capture, even if I stand there where the zone should be; not being able to pick up crests; and a whole slew of other BS things... then it's just impossible for me to enjoy it. I honestly don't really care that much if my team wins, when I play solo. I just care that I'm able to do reasonably well for myself. But when it goes to hell, like I described above, it's just not fun at all.

                                    • They have to fix MM . Win or Lose doesn't matter .It'snt fun with this TTK and big camp friendly maps.Thats it. I'm saying again it is not fun, win or lose doesn't matter. Whenever you Solo Que 3 of 5 matches you vs 2-4 stack teams with randoms. Whenver your teammates realize it , they leave game and you have to play that game outnumbered , till it ends. Even i win game against stacks, i don't enjoy it. Because i know that doesn't mean " i ' m good and i don't feel i improve anything ".It happens because we dont have a " Skill Base Matchmaking ".But we have connection base mm . Why ? it is a cheap and greedy solution to fix their mixed up p2p servers.And they don't need to spend $$$ for dedicated servers. Just because you're having fun with your friends , does not mean everyone's having fun.You can't say people who spent time and $ in this game "don't play solo then , i'm having fun , it is fine ". I don't know man this game pvp , MM and End Game broken as my poor grammar.

                                    • lol! I think I’m presently at about 20 wins in the last 70 games. Not joking. The matchmaking/balance is about as bad as it can get.

                                      I go in to QP with a full fireteam sometimes. Always with a team of at least two. It really means nothing except that we can communicate with each other. We have a lot of different abilities, some are better, some worse, some average. We win, we loose. If we were limited to competitive, things would be a lot different. My best friend on xbox plays PVP sorta different then most. While I would not consider him a camper, I would have to describe his playstyle as.........selective engagement. His style is shoot, get the upper hand, kill, run. Shoot, other guy is better, blink, run. I have seen him go 24 and 0 playing this way. His K/D on Destiny Tracker is 2.5. Now, I don't think he is actually that good, one on one, but his K/D lands us in higher level games when we go into competitive. We are totally outmatched. No chance at all. Just because people go in as full fireteams, does not mean you have no chance. It usually does mean that we communicate better, but you will not always loose against a full fireteam.

                                    • Quick play should be for fire teams of 1-2 and compet been 1-4 so if you do it solo you know what to expect.

                                    • I get a mix of opponents and teammates in quick play, and yes sometimes that includes going up against a clan of 4. They don't always win.

                                    • Here's what Crucible should have been like: Quickplay- Should be the way it is. Playlist that puts players into a random "low intensity" game mode. Competitive- Should stay the way it is. Playlist that puts players into random high intensity game modes. What should have been added to it was the options for every individual game mode for player choice.
