I didn’t play in D1 for more than half hour on my friend’s PS because I’m awful at aiming on controller - so I don’t know how unbalanced things were there (if at all).
I read here on forums that such restricted “skill tree” is for PvP balance. I must agree that balance in PvP is important but I bought Destiny 2 mainly for PvE with friends.
There is one thing - Guardians are bland and boring. Supers are not so super in most cases.
Also - it may be my thing but I don’t think so - you don’t feel any progress in your power when you go back to start zone. Well, I didn’t see any real difference.
In Warframe - happy grindfest with space magic robo ninjas - PvP and PvE are different, very different.
PvP has specific mods, some abilities are changed, you are on the same low level etc.
Effect? Balanced PvP that doesn’t affect PvE (it’s also boring and unrewarding so basically nobody plays it but it’s not important here)
PvE has no real restrictions. The same warframe or weapon can feel and act completely different depending on build. Careful planning or crazy ideas - what you want to have fun. Going back to low level feels funny - things that gave you problems are nothing to you. But there are always higher levels and raids if you want something more challenging - thing is you feel difference in power between them and your own progress.
My point is - why take fun from PvE and creativity of players in name of balance in PvP (that imho is not main part of this game) when it could be simply separate mode with restrictions.
Hell, there already are like power/light level is not important. So why not full separation?
Balanced PvP and pure fun in PvE.
I’ve seen that very restricted choices and not feeling strong enough is quite popular subject here. So here it is.
If it’s wrong place or repeat of existing thread - I’m sorry.
