The inability to communicate is aggravating
I get it, one person at bungie felt gamers are too toxic to have chat. Well, I take it back, I don't get it. Why is a social game like Destiny so impossible to communicate in? This game would be so much better with local text chat and voice proximity defaulted to on.
Hey, want to team up and do bounties? Nope, cant do it. Let me send an unsolicited invite that you will likely ignore because you don't know why I am sending it.
Hey guys, shoot the ship down to turn this into a heroic event! Oh crap, no way to let any of you know and you just ended the even before we could upgrade it.
Hey, you look new, blah blah blah.
Nope, lets just make it so no one can talk. Social games are not supposed to be for making new friends. You need to play with real life friends only (bungie's statement with no raid matchmaking in d1)
Sigh. This is by far the BIGGEST gripe I have with this game, and bungie in general with their antisocial narrative.

I dont need someone ordering me around while im exploring a planet. And i shouldnt have to boss some one else around in a casual experience like public events. Or else youll get those guys who just run around screaming "Death to all ****" and trolling everyone on public events. Besides, 1 single person can activate a heroic event themself. Its not that hard to solo unless youre seriously underpowered. Yes, all heroic events are soloable. Blight, Injection Rig is totally doable alone with Wardcliff Coil. Theres 2 sides to all coins. Mics in public space sound good, but it could also turn out into the worst idea on console. Save the mics for raids, trials and maybe nightfall.
