Edit 3 - Bungie has passed this info to their troubleshooting team. Please keep commenting if you have the same problem, or have potential fixes. I will post any possible fixes that emerge.
Edit 7 - Seems to be fixed after the last update, fingers crossed!
Hello,
Upon starting destiny 2 and pressing enter, I am receiving the error code Nightingale, which is accompanied by a message saying unable to download configuration files from bungie.net. I have visited both Bungie's help page and Blizzard's web page for support on the issue, which is exit and restart (Doesn't work) and Reinstalling the game (tried 3 times and hasn't worked). Additionally, I've tried clearing caches, updating drivers, changing network settings, changing firewall settings, using VPN, configuring DNS settings, restarting everything from the hardware to software, monitored for packet loss (none), deleting CVARS files... You get the idea, I've tried it all. I've spent the last three days on every forum I can find trying every conceivable fix from Destiny 1, 2 (beta), and Destiny 2. I know I'm not the only case of this, I have found several (at least 10) other players who are encountering the same issue. I don't believe it is my network, due to the fact that I was able to play for roughly 1 hour at random in the process of attempting fixes, and have not been able to replicate it. Bungie, please throw us a bone here. If this is an issue on your end let us know so we can at least stop pulling our hair out, or at least acknowledge some attempt to address this issue, there hasn't been any reply from you in any PC nightingale error thread. Fellow players who are encountering this issue, please feel free to like this post for visibility and comment with your issues/attempted fixes.

Edit 1 - Still no updates / nightingale error persists
Edit 2 - Bungie is responding to some other threads with potential fixes. I'll post them as they become available:

Edit 4 - Potential/Unconfirmed fixes:
These aren't official, and may not work for you but why not give them a try?
1. Tether your phone/hotspot to your computer and switch to your landline after connecting. (Credit to RetroApe for the idea)
Example Instructions ->
http://www.dummies.com/consumer-electronics/smartphones/droid/how-to-tether-an-internet-connection-with-an-android-phone/
2. Switch from Wifi to LAN, then back to Wifi
https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/219550951
3. Use a VPN that allows you to choose a server in the same country you are in. It seems this may be an ISP issue after all. This worked for me and one of my friends in the same area as me having this problem.
Edit 5 - More info here, this is turning into a common workaround. NOTE - you may need another network card or adapter for the hotspot method to work for you.

Edit 6 - Still using hotspot workaround, the error is still present. Hopefully a hot fix is coming with this next patch!
Edit 7 - Seems to be fixed after the last update, fingers crossed!

same issue here since october, clearly everyone know that we are in February right now and #Bungie still does not give a crap. #BNGHelp0 bro do you even care any more ?

I'm having this problem since this morning (6:00am GMT+8), tried all the solutions found in the forum and still cannot play. I was able to play perfectly last night and all of a sudden this problem came up and won't go away. Hope Bungie fixes this.

Been (still) having this issue. Error code nightingale pops up every time I launch the game. I have uninstalled and reinstall destiny but still this problem persists. but still this problem persists. I test to see if any other of my games from blizzard are malfunctioning but all is fine except for destiny? I have searched for days on blizzard, bungie, and Reddit forums for a solution that works but I still have not found one.

Edited by Zro Fox: 11/8/2017 3:46:43 PMI'm having the same issue. I was able to play for about 2 hours randomly last night, but the issue continues. #BNGHelp0 please do something about this. I've invested a whole lot of money into this franchise only to get screwed... again.

1 ReplyPOSSIBLE SOLUTION: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAkUu8WN_XY This morning I found this and tried it. It didn't work for me immediately. But somehow this afternoon, I tried to launch the game again and it works! Note that I got this error from the getgo and had never been able to pass through the first loading screen. I tried all the fixes for days not thing works until this one. So good luck and let other players know whether if it fix your game too.

1 Replydid you ever get it to work because my friend and i have had the same problem all of today and have tried literally everything. I spent damn near 100 dollars on this game and this is the third day, we cant find anything on bungie that helps. has anyone else?

I have the same issue Its on bungies side its not the capabilitites of your computer. I get the nightingale error code but can only play really late at night or at weird times when the servers arent as full so i have only been able to play for about 60min. But during prime times when people play the game im not able to play and receive the error code.

5 RepliesHow do you clear your cache? I might try that too, I'm having the same problem.
