Hello. A few months ago, I saw a post relating each type of energy to a fundamental force of the universe. (Void may be linked to gravity but let’s ignore that) I was just sitting around thinking about Destiny and this subclass pops into my head. A wind/gravity related one. Let’s start with warlock:
Warlock:
Option for Super 1: Whirlwind
Very like stormcaller in appearance and how it has a time limit on its effect. However it differed because you don’t have the lighting coursing through your body. For a few seconds (meaning a maximum of 10 seconds (super energy burns down with use) and a minimum of 5), you are able to roam around the map tossing enemies around like rag dolls by making them float or by tossing them into walls or other environmental obstacles.
Option for Super 2: Tornado
Like nova bomb in the delivery, you fling a ball of wind energy forwards that then upon impact, turns into a large tornado, sweeping up enemy guardians, bullets, supers, and grenades (doesn’t allow enemy guardians to leave storm until end of effect, bullets shot by allies have a 100% chance of hitting a target (hits a random guardian if 1+ guardians are in area of effect, bullets shot by enemies into area of effect deal friendly fire with the same accuracy rate mentioned before, grenades are the same, supers (ally and enemy alike) just get sucked into the storm)
Grenade 1: Wind Trap
Enemies in the area of effect get trapped in a vortex of wind and distorted gravity that covers roughly the same amount of space as a vortex grenade which traps them and deals same amounts of damage over time
Grenade 2: Updraft
Enemies are flung upwards into the air and backwards depending on throwing angle, also deals environmental damage on impact
Grenade 3: Gust
Enemies are flung back or to the side depending on the position of the grenade relative to the enemy (example: grenade is thrown to the left of the enemy, the enemy flies to the right), also deals environmental damage on impact
Melee 1:
Knocks enemies backwards
Melee 2:
Slows enemies
Titan:
Super: Gravity Wells
Leaves a well with heavier or light gravity, can place up to 6 wells, heavy wells deal damage over time and distort the path of bullets (ally, enemy, and own bullets) so they curve downward until out of the well, light wells cause enemies to continuously levitate up until out of the area of effect, does not cause damage until impact on an environmental object or misadventure
Grenade 1:
Same as warlock grenade 2
Grenade 2:
Same as warlock grenade 3
Grenade 3: Pulse grenade? (maybe, I dunno I was kinda lazy on this one, sorry)
Melees are the same
Thanks for reading. I couldn’t think of anything good for hunter so please leave your thoughts in the comments below and if you have any ideas about this, please share them (especially if it is an idea for hunter). Also feel free to say your favorite warlock super of the 2 I gave (or suggest better ones) in the comments. Goodbye and don’t be toxic after all the greatest subclass in D2 is friendship

4 RepliesThe destiny elements are based on light. Wind doesnt make light. Gravity removes light.

The idea of new elements is a great idea, however gravity as an element seems like a part of how void energy works. Perhaps a simpler approach of matching some typical themed elements / types: Fire (solar) Ice (polar) Vacuum / dark matter or energy (void) Physical / physics based (kinetic) Electricity / lightning / storm / wind (arc) Earth / geomancy / alchemy (poison) Each seems a viable element or group of powers in terms of how the travellers light provides supernatural powers to guardians. They all can have some sort of super ability that's cast (almost like it's magic) but have their duality counter element.
