Are u kidding? Ttk was a reboot and made the game worse. It destroyed lootbased incentives to do endgame content, questified the best and most powerful exotics, practically giving them away, removed elemental primaries as endgame rewards, not to mention the myriad of nerfs suffered in pve for the sake of pvp. There was some good content in there but they also started to shift the game towards endgame just neing a grind for exotics. Roi continued this trend when it could have completely reversed it by bringing bsck elemental primaries. So im not shocked that D2 now only rewards consumable shaders and an emblem for your efforts. If we want this game to be good again, the game needs to go back to how it was in Y1, with an improved story and actual fixes for accessibility issues.

Strikes had never been more fun since the heroic version and building setups around the active moifyers

  • The heroic strikes of Y1 were mini-nightfalls. And depending on the modifiers, could actually be HARDER than the nightfall itself. Who wants to face Valus Ta'auric with juggler and reinforced or fresh troops or whatever that modifier was- with no elemental burn to help. That was NO fun at all. Made that Arc burn Omnigul look like a cake walk.

  • Omnigul. That was extremely irritating. It was a shoebox with a door. Smh👍🏼

The heroic strikes of the taken king, combined with all the new exotics and improvements to old ones, allowed for tons of combinations, to not just win but dominate. It's incredibly fun to run a void warlock, those void gloves, telesto and a competent mind to destroy it all. Complementing the void and specialist modifyers

  • The thing that sucked about the TTK strikes is the same 3-4 kept coming up. I wish there was some kind of system where once you complete a strike, it can't come up in the next 5 strikes. That would help force variety in the strikes you run.

I definitely agree to that, too many times I left the strike playlist because in ROI that dam annoying, unfun strike kept poping up, the 'wretched eye' strikes boss battle, was beyond annoying.

  • Yeah. They could easily have come up with some kind of system that would have prevented it from happening, but they never did. As fun as running strikes can be sometimes, my disappointment with RoI and TTK is that strikes with 3oC effectively replaced endgame content because the raid gear wasn't a step above everything else in the game. IMO, it's because of the successes of TTK and RoI that lead them to make the raid gear nothing special in D2 and mainly cosmetic in nature. If you want to see where they learned that THAT was okay, you need to look no further than RoI or TTK. Raiding hasn't been worthwhile since Y1 when raid gear was clear-cut better than anything else out there.

  • Vault of glass weapons where the absolute best legendarys in the game. The shotgun was top tier in the crucible, the handcannon was frowned apon by the people I knew at first, but then realised it was amazing. The auto rifle was not even recognisable by many, but when we needed void kills, oh boy was it used. The sniper was insane having little to no recoil. The rocket launcher was meh, the machine gun was insane, scout rifle too. The fusion was aprantly very good and the pulse was aprantly top tier in pvp. All of these where great and useful for a very long time. When the dark below hit, all of the weapons besides maybe the, scout, pulse and my personal favarate the auto rifle where terrible next what the vault of glass had. Next to come was house of wolf's dlc and with that came end game weapons that came with random elements and some form of different rolls on each weapon.
I remember variks once sold a rocket launcher, void and had a perk that did more damage to shanks... yes I wanted to kill myself at that.
in any case, it didn't matter what bungie added, because we could bring any weapon forward at that point and is also the time reforging came. So not only could people bring in the best gear, they could also opt to reroll any gun for the perfect situation. At that point no other legendarys mattered, allthough I personally loved handcannon from HOW. For all the mishaps the taken king gave with how broken 3OC where, it added others things that kept me personally intrested. I was never 1 to be good at raids and I consider myself to be the 'weakest link'. Besides that, heroic strikes combined with all these new, easily obtained exotics and grinding for faction exotics. Was indeed the most fun I ever had with the game. Not to mention SRL and mayhem. ROI adding in strike scoring and bounties to complement it, was the tip top of enjoyment. But I also wish and still wish, there be a 'timer' strike playlist with bounties to reward those who just want skip past ot all and opt for builds that quickly demolish the boss. Meh, sorry for the wall of text.

  • No, I'm glad someone enjoyed RoI and TTK, but it sure as hell wasn't me. The bottom line is in a looter game, the best stuff should come from doing the hardest content and it felt like the raids were the hardest content offered for PVE, but had the worst rewards. AT WORST, the raid gear was just used for infusion fuel, and AT BEST, they were just cosmetic. Some guns from WotM were unique, but not really superior to what was already out there - which is actually a mistake. It's that kind of mentality that has helped contribute to the terrible rewards system in D2. Bungie learned that its "okay" to make endgame rewards cosmetic in nature and no better than anything else out there. That is why prestige (hard mode raid) gives nothing more than a consumable shader and a rare emblem for beating it - because they want to give players SOMETHING to set them apart from everyone else while not giving them an advantage that might translate into a PVP advantage, or elitism in LFG/Guided Games. And what they're finding out is that kind of participation trophy mentality is absolutely wrong.

How about we just release a new game with all the quality of life changes brought up throughout Rise of Iron. It'll have an amazing story, a fantastic raid, ass loads of guns and badass exotics!! We'll call it: Destiny 2. Oh, wait... oops. Apparently Todd the intern, just slapped some paint over Vanilla Destiny instead. :3
