What are the best new releases this year that you’ve played? For me it would have to be Hellblade, Shadow of War, and Horizon. Hellblade particularly is such an amazing gem that everyone should play. It’s incredibly deep, grounded, gritty, and just plain agonizing but it’s just so damn good. Especially the price tag
Also good to see Xbox finally get a victory with Cuphead. It’s not my kind of thing but hey it’s finally the highest rated Xbox game right now so that means something
Anyways, what are the best games for you guys this year so far?

I think purely out of Zelda nostalgia, GOTY will be BOTW. It’s the Golden Boy if video games, it can never do any wrong. Every Zelda game is automatically 10/10 and completely flawless and perfect. Always. No matter what. It’s a fantastic game don’t get me wrong, but I guess I just get sick of how clouded everyone’s judgment is when it comes to anything Zelda. BOTW has flaws and downfalls just like every other game but it gets a pass because it’s Zelda. Lots of great games out this year. Top 5 in no particular order for me is BOTW, HZD, Nier, Nioh, Persona 5.
-
BOTW is the best game ive played in a very long time. Travesty of it doesnt win imo
-
Horizon zero dawn , AC Origins, Shadow Of War, Sniper Elite 4 (heavily underrated)
-
Destiny, Halo, Fallout, Mass Effect, GTA 5, Witcher
-
Pretty sure I haven't played it yet.
-
Injustice 2 and Destiny 2.
-
Uncharted: Lost Legacy. Short but great story and graphics. And who doesn’t like two hot babes?
-
NieR: Automata, of course.
-
Persona 5 Zelda BotW Nioh With NieR Automata and Horizons ZD as very honorable mentions.
-
Haven't played many 2017 games. I'm kind of just waiting for reviews on Assassin's Creed Origins and Star Wars. I'll play CoD because I gameshare and my friend is getting it but I don't have high hopes. But, my most anticipated game is easily Monster Hunter Worlds
-
Persona 5, Danganronpa V3, and Zelda: BOTW have been at the top of my list. I’ll have to see how Mario turns out as well, and I’d like to get my hands on Nioh and NieR at some point.

Edited by eviltedi: 10/21/2017 8:33:33 AMI'll let you know next Friday, until then it's Nioh for me.
-
Best would have to go to Injustice 2, and favorite would go to Destiny 2.
-
Don't own a Box so this list will be lopsided >Zelda BoW >Horizon Zero Dawn >Prey >Hellblade >Nier Aotomata Honorable Mention though I'm not keen on jRPGs >Persona 5
-
Out of all the games I got this year I think it'll be Horizon Zero Dawn. I loved Nioh but I don't see it winning, and I love this game Absolver I just picked up but it also won't win. Hellblade was sweet and if any indie title could win it would be that one
-
Zelda BotW, Prey, and Horizon have been the standouts for me so far
-
Haven't really gotten too many newer games recently. Hoping to pick up Forza 7 and assassin's Creed origins. I have the new South Park but my Xbox is in for repairs atm. Haven't been keeping up on PS4 titles, anything exclusive coming out noteworthy in the next couple months?
-
I am from the future and Mario Odyssey is game of the universe! :D
-
Zelda BoTW. Only game I've really given a shit about. Even Tekken 7 was lackluster, despite being a good game.
-
For me it's down to Horizon Zero Dawn and NieR:Automata.
-
Edited by Tartan 118: 10/21/2017 10:22:25 PMDestiny 2. Cuphead is second. Only other titles I’ve bought have been Horizon (didn’t get into it) and N-Sane Trilogy, and I don’t consider remakes or remasters or whatever GotY-viable. I should pick up Hellblade sometime.
-
Personally? TEKKEN 7 But I think Nier: Automata is objectively the best game to come out of this year.
-
For me it would have to be destiny 2 and Zelda botw.
-
Destiny 2

I'd say Breath of the Wild and PUBG are contending for best game of 2017. Other games I'd put right near the top: Horizon: Zero Dawn, NieR: Automata, Yakuza 0, Destiny 2, and Nioh. The only games still to release I can see being real home runs are Super Mario Odyssy and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. And of course there have been some outstanding smaller games: Cuphead, Sonic Mania, and Golf Story.
