Make the rewards, reward accordingly.
I really believe they would see timers being used the least and more people playing nightfall. After all more people playing more time is what they want right?

The best part of this comment is the rewards should reflect the difficulty. I understand that so many people want the timers to be removed but then they should be rewarded with less impressive rewards. On more point; if you remove the timers all you are left with is a normal strike with modifiers. Modifiers hardly makes a strike more difficult. Is everyone just wanting normal strikes with modifiers that also give them high lvl gear, because that's asking too much.

So you want less impressive rewards than are available from completing public events or standing around in a series of Crucible matches when all things you mention are at least has hard as those two things. OK...
